In just a few days, the VnExpress Marathon Hai Phong 2025 will take place in Hai Phong city. To date, the race has recorded over 14,000 registered athletes, setting a record for the largest number of participants in the system. Compared to the most recent VnExpress Marathon, the total number of registrations has increased by approximately 1.4 times. Hanoi contributes nearly 4,000 athletes, Hai Phong has about 3,500 athletes; the remainder come from other provinces and cities, as well as international athletes.
Notably, the VnExpress Marathon Hai Phong 2025 course is certified by the International Association of Marathon and Marathon Racers (AIMS), ensuring accuracy and allowing athletes to strive to break personal records and use these achievements to register for major marathons.
In the cool weather of late December in Hai Phong, athletes will have the opportunity to experience the peaceful scenery from the city center to the famous Do Son beach resort with its picturesque landscape.
Listening to the athletes' opinions, the organizers also adjusted the start time to finish the race before 8:30 AM, giving athletes and their families more time to rest and experience the local cuisine and tourism in Hai Phong on Sunday.

Based on the positive contribution of sports tourism activities in attracting tourists to Hai Phong, the city's larger goal is to make sports tourism a key tourism product in the future.
According to the overall plan for tourism development in Hai Phong city until 2025, with a vision to 2030, the city will develop a comprehensive, specialized sports tourism area including: marathon running in Do Son and Cat Ba; cycling, off-road motorcycle racing, indoor and outdoor rock climbing in Thuy Nguyen to make good use of the natural limestone mountain terrain; water sports at the Hai Phong rowing training area; and providing maximum support for golf course investment projects.
The city will soon finalize the announcement of designated water-based recreational areas at several locations in the bays of the Cat Ba archipelago.
This presents a great opportunity for businesses to invest in and develop water sports activities such as kayaking, boat racing, and adventure climbing. This will create more attractive sports tourism products, enhance the experience, and extend the length of stay for tourists, especially international visitors, in Hai Phong.
