Male driver sent rude messages when customer used silent feature during the trip (Screenshot).

The author of the post, Ms. PM (living in Dong Nai ), said the incident happened a few days ago. Because she was shy about talking to the driver and had encountered many people who intentionally asked her personal questions, M. often chose the silent ride feature when using a ride-hailing service.

However, when booking a ride driven by driver NQD, M. received a text message from the driver saying: "You choose a mute driver."

Too surprised, the girl called driver D. but he pretended to be deaf to tease her.

"I didn't report it to the company because I thought if the driver had that attitude, other passengers would report it on my behalf," M. said.

A Grab representative said that as soon as they received the information, the company contacted the user and related driver partners to investigate the incident.

"After verifying the information, we are very sorry for the unsatisfactory service experience for users, causing unnecessary inconvenience.

Grab found that the driver-partner's behavior was not in accordance with Grab's operating and service standards. Therefore, we have applied the form of handling violations according to the code of conduct that the partner has signed with Grab," said a representative of the technology car company.
