Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee Phan Thang An becomes Secretary of Cao Bang

(Dan Tri) - Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee Phan Thang An was assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee to replace Mr. Quan Minh Cuong, who was assigned to be Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee.

On the afternoon of December 3, Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee held a conference to implement the Politburo 's decision on personnel work.

At the conference, the representative of the Central Organizing Committee announced the Politburo 's decision to remove Mr. Phan Thang An from the Party Executive Committee of the Central Party agencies and from the position of Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee.

The Politburo also assigned and appointed Mr. Phan Thang An to join the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, holding the position of Secretary of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term and appointed him to join the Party Committee of Military Region 1.

At the conference, Head of the Central Organizing Committee Le Minh Hung said that the transfer and appointment of Mr. Phan Thang An to hold the position of Secretary of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee demonstrated the recognition, trust and expectations of the Politburo.

The Head of the Central Organizing Committee assessed Mr. Phan Thang An as a well-trained cadre, with capacity and experience in Party building and political building, sharp thinking, scientific working methods, decisive leadership, close to the grassroots, and having held many important leadership positions.

In his acceptance speech, the new Secretary of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee affirmed that this is an important milestone, a great honor in his work and also a great responsibility before the Politburo, the Party Central Committee, the Party Committee and the people of all ethnic groups in Cao Bang province.

Mr. An pledged to quickly grasp the situation, be dedicated, make every effort, uphold the Party's leadership principles, uphold the pioneering and exemplary spirit, and work together with the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Provincial Party Executive Committee to unite, unite, join hands, and constantly innovate thinking and leadership style.

According to the new Secretary of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee, all development motivations and goals are aimed at improving the material and spiritual lives of the people of all ethnic groups in the province.

Previously, Mr. Quan Minh Cuong, former Secretary of Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee, was mobilized and appointed by the Politburo to join the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, holding the position of Secretary of Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030.

Mr. Phan Thang An is from Da Nang and has a PhD in economics.

Mr. An used to hold the position of District Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Thang Binh district of Quang Nam province (old). After that, he was assigned to work at the Central Organizing Committee and successively held the positions of Deputy Director, Director of Local Department II; Director of Internal Political Protection Department; Deputy Secretary of the agency's Party Committee, Chairman of the Party Committee's Inspection Committee; Standing Member of the Central Internal Political Protection Subcommittee.

In December 2022, Mr. An was appointed by the Politburo as Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee and has held this position until now.
