Ho Chi Minh Road through rubber forest in Binh Duong opens to traffic on April 30

On February 22, information from the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board said that the Ho Chi Minh Road project, Chon Thanh - Duc Hoa section (through Binh Duong) will be technically opened to traffic on April 30 this year.

According to the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board, the section passing through Binh Duong is 31 km long from Km10+00 (bordering Binh Phuoc province) to Km 41+150 (bordering Saigon River) via Thanh An bridge (Dau Tieng district, Binh Duong) connecting Binh Duong with Tay Ninh.

The Ho Chi Minh Highway section through Binh Duong is designed to be a 6-lane highway with a design speed of 100 km/h. The first phase is invested in construction with a scale of 2 lanes, and in the future will continue to expand according to the development needs of the region.

In the first phase, the road is designed with 2 lanes and will be expanded according to development needs.

Up to now, the construction unit has basically completed the ground foundation and carried out the construction of the road surface foundation reaching 28/31 km; and the asphalt pavement construction reaching 19/31 km.

There are 6 bridges along the route, the largest of which is Thanh An Bridge across the Saigon River, over 600m long with 12 7m high clearance piers. The cantilever section is currently under construction, expected to be completed in February 2025.

Phuoc Hoa Canal Bridge, Ba Tu Bridge and Suoi Tre Bridge have completed the bridge deck construction; Cay Truong Bridge and Thi Tinh Bridge have completed the lower part and girder launching.

To date, the contractor has completed 70% of the contract volume, determined to have technical vehicles on April 30 and complete the project in August 2025, shortening the construction time by about 4 months compared to the contract.

Previously, Mr. Nguyen Van Loi, Secretary of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee, inspected and directed the work of clearing and handing over the site for road construction.

Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh road section through Binh Duong still has 7 points that are stuck in site clearance in Dau Tieng and Bau Bang districts. Mr. Nguyen Van Loi has directed these two localities to urgently complete the site handover in March 2025.
