Nowadays, most phone manufacturers are aiming to create ultra-thin phones, and one of the most experienced brands is proving why it still holds its own in the market.

One of the factors that makes smartphones at this time highly appreciated is that they do not have to sacrifice parameters. According to leaked information, the upcoming Motorola Edge 70 model will be equipped with a much larger battery than the popular thin and light competitors today.

Motorola has been proactive in revealing information about its new product. The Motorola Edge 70 will be equipped with a 4,800mAh battery - this number may not be too impressive compared to current flagships, but in fact it is a big step forward.

Motorola's official Polish website recently posted a short teaser of the Edge 70. According to the site, this is part of a weekly teaser series where the company reveals bits and pieces of the new phone every Wednesday.

On that website, the Motorola Edge 70 appears along with a brief description of the battery that this super-thin phone will have. This is further emphasized when Motorola said that the Edge 70 will use silicon-carbon batteries - battery technology that Samsung, Apple or Google have not yet adopted.

Silicon-carbon batteries offer higher energy transfer efficiency, and the 4,800mAh battery using this technology has the potential to last longer than traditional Li-ion batteries.

It's worth noting, though, that the 5.8mm thick Galaxy S25 Edge only has a modest 3,900mAh battery, while the newly launched Apple iPhone Air has a 3,149mAh battery. Both phones were launched to catch up with the trend of ultra-thin devices. The Galaxy S25 Edge is just 5.8mm thick, while the iPhone Air is even thinner at 5.6mm.

According to recent reports, the Motorola Edge 70 is also 5.8mm thick, which is on par with Samsung’s thinnest product. However, compared to Motorola’s previous Edge generations, the difference in thickness is quite obvious, even though this product line has always been labeled “ultra-thin”.

Motorola's official website also has a few legal notices regarding features that aren't mentioned on the page. For example, it says that the Edge 70 is IP68 and IP69 water/dust resistant, and has a 50MP camera. However, these are just general legal notices, so users should take this information with a grain of salt.

However, some interesting details were also revealed. Specifically, the expected price of the Edge 70 will range from 799 to 899 euros. In addition, the website also mentions Gorilla Glass i7, suggesting that Motorola may have chosen this material for the screen glass. VRAM is also mentioned, which is a notable plus on an ultra-thin device.

Although it is no longer a familiar name to many users, Motorola still produces quality Android phones that are competitive with Google, Samsung, OnePlus and many other brands. GSMArena also said that the Edge 70 will support 68W fast wired charging and 15W wireless charging, most likely the Qi2 standard. However, it is not clear whether the device is "Qi2 ready" or not.

The device will also be equipped with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor and 12GB of RAM. Overall, this is a worthy option, especially when other super-thin Android and iOS devices often have to compromise on many features.
