Edoardo Bove collapsed in the middle of the match, his teammates covered their faces and burst into tears

Edoardo Bove - a player of Fiorentina - collapsed on the field, unconscious while playing against Inter Milan. The match of round 14 of Serie A (Italian national championship) at Artemio Franchi stadium (Firenze, Italy) was postponed.

The incident happened when the whole stadium was waiting for the referee to check the situation with VAR. Bove bent down, as if to tie his shoelaces but suddenly collapsed. The player born in 2002 had a seizure.

The moment Bove fell to the ground, other players and the referee immediately rushed to his side. Both Bove's teammates and opponents were clearly shocked. Some people covered their faces and even cried on the field when they saw the Fiorentina player's condition.

An ambulance then entered the stadium to take Bove to the hospital. According to Sky Sport, Bove is temporarily out of danger. The player is conscious and breathing on his own, without needing a ventilator.

Bove plays for Fiorentina on loan from AS Roma. The 22-year-old midfielder has played 14 games for Fiorentina this season. He is also a familiar face in Italy's youth teams in the past.

This is the second time this year that a Serie A player has passed out in the middle of a match. In April 2024, AS Roma's Evan Ndicka suffered a similar incident in a match against Udinese.

In August this year, Juan Izquierdo (Uruguayan) died of cardiac arrest in the middle of a match.
