The project is invested by EVNNPT, managed by NPMB, and operated by Power Transmission Company 1.

The 500kV Thai Binh transformer station was built in Bac Son commune, Hung Ha district, Thai Binh province (old), now Than Khe commune, Hung Yen province. The project has a designed capacity of 600MVA and has a reserve location for the installation of a second transformer in the future.

The connecting line section is designed as a line, including tower-shaped steel columns: Construction of 2 sections of 500kV double-circuit line with a total length of about 1.71 km from Thai Binh 500kV substation to the newly built connecting column located on the center of the 500kV Nam Dinh I-Pho Noi power plant line.

The project constructs two 220kV 4-circuit and 2-circuit lines, with a total length of about 6.07km from the 500kV Thai Binh substation to the newly constructed connection pole located on the heart of the existing 220kV Thai Binh - Kim Dong line.

The Thai Binh 500kV substation and connection project is invested in construction with the aim of increasing the power supply, contributing to ensuring safe and reliable power supply for Hung Yen province; reducing and avoiding overload for 500kV substations and 220kV lines supplying power to Hung Yen and Ninh Binh areas.

Create strong links between regions, increase the ability to operate safely and stably for the national power system. Reduce power and electricity losses in the system, improve production and business efficiency of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT).

According to the plan, the project must be completed in 2025 to meet the Prime Minister's directive goals.

A representative of the Northern Power Project Management Board said: This is an important project to ensure power supply for Hung Yen province and neighboring provinces in the Northern region.

This is a dynamic economic development area of the country and has a rapid electricity growth rate. NPMB requires units during the construction process to strictly comply with technical and regulatory procedures; well manage occupational safety and hygiene, environment; and ensure the quality of construction works.

NPMB requests construction units and supervision consultants to strengthen and mobilize forces, closely coordinate with project management and operation units and related units to ensure quality and progress, striving to complete energization in 2025 according to EVNNPT's direction.

The representative of the construction unit pledged to mobilize maximum resources to speed up the project's progress, meeting the requirements of the investor as well as the electricity demand of Hung Yen province and other localities.
