The film revolves around a young man trapped in an endless, cold subway corridor. There, he is reluctantly forced to participate in a game of finding "Exit 8".

The first round starts from "Exit 0," and the rules seem simple: Don't overlook anything unusual in the hallway of each exit. If you notice anything wrong, turn back immediately. If nothing changes, keep going. But one moment of carelessness and the player is back at the starting point. Amidst an endless maze of hallucinations, can the player win and return to reality?

Watching "Exit 8: The Endless Train Station," the audience themselves become players and can interact with the film, experiencing the suspense alongside the characters as they search for differences in the endless corridor, while simultaneously following the complex "psychological battle" unfolding on screen.
Director Genki Kawamura said, “Exit 8: Infinite Train Station” is made in a bold and unconventional style, set in a familiar setting to most people in Tokyo (Japan) - underground tunnels.

The image of the train station corridor, a seemingly endless loop, is a metaphor for the cycle of life: “We all experience days that seem meaningless, while still encountering small signs that something is wrong. These seemingly insignificant pieces reflect a deeper reality. Will we ignore them and continue to be lost in this hopeless world ? Or will we see the abnormality and move towards the light? Whether consciously or unconsciously, it is a choice we face every day. That white corridor may be a place where we hone our ability to confront ourselves.”
Director Genki Kawamura is also known as a producer and writer. In 2012, he published the novel “If Cats Disappeared from the World” – a work that became a global phenomenon, selling over 2 million copies and translated into 32 languages.
As a producer, he has been involved in the production of many popular films such as “Your Name” (2016), “Suzume” (2022), “Monster” (2023)... His feature film debut, “A Hundred Flowers,” adapted from his own novel, won the Silver Shell for Best Director at the 2022 San Sebastian Film Festival. “Exit 8: The Infinite Train Station” is his second feature film, which recently premiered in the Midnight Screening category at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.
