On the morning of September 19, at 7/5 Square (Dien Bien Phu Ward), many activities within the framework of the Northwest-Dien Bien 2025 Quintessence Festival opened, including a beautiful tourism photo exhibition, a display introducing unique tourist destinations, and a Northwest culinary festival.
The regional-scale event attracted a large number of people and tourists to participate, contributing to promoting the image of the land and people of the Northwest to the whole country and internationally.
The 2025 Northwest-Dien Bien Quintessence Festival, hosted by Dien Bien province, aims to introduce and promote the image of Dien Bien and promote tourism development cooperation between 6 provinces in the extended Northwest region and Ho Chi Minh City.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee Vu A Bang emphasized that the Northwest is a borderland with rich potential for tourism development thanks to its majestic nature, fresh climate, diverse culture of over 30 ethnic groups and heroic history associated with many revolutionary relics.
The Festival is an opportunity to honor traditional cultural values, while promoting tourism development links and building the unique and rich "Quintessence of the Northwest" brand.
The festival includes 6 main contents, taking place from September 19-21 such as photo exhibition, destination display, culinary festival, investment-tourism promotion conference, scientific seminar on Northwest tourism development, special art program taking place on the evening of September 19.
This is an opportunity for the six expanded Northwestern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City to review the cooperation results in the past period, thereby orienting sustainable development solutions for the coming period, while expanding foreign cooperation with the provinces of Northern Laos, China and many international partners.
Within the framework of the Festival, visitors and people can experience many unique cultural and tourism activities. The beautiful tourism photo exhibition “Colors of the Northwest” displays nearly 210 artistic photos, vividly reflecting the natural beauty, people, culture and development potential of the provinces of Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Son La, Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang and Dien Bien.
This is the first time the exhibition has been held on an inter-provincial scale, providing a comprehensive view of the Northwest region.
Exhibition space, introducing unique tourist destinations with more than 40 booths of participating localities and tourism businesses, introducing typical products, outstanding destinations and new tours, promising to create opportunities for connection and cooperation to develop inter-regional tourism.
The Northwest Cuisine Festival with nearly 100 specialties from 6 Northwest provinces were introduced such as thang co, sausage, Pa Pinh Top grilled fish, five-color sticky rice, bamboo shoot soup, smoked buffalo meat... to rustic dishes associated with community life. Each dish not only has regional flavors but also contains cultural stories and customs of ethnic minorities.
The 2025 Northwest-Dien Bien Festival of Culture and Tourism is an opportunity to promote, connect, and open up new directions for cooperation in tourism and socio-economic development in the Northwest region.
The opening ceremony of the Festival will take place on the evening of September 19 at Dien Bien Provincial Stadium, promising to bring a unique art program, honoring the quintessence of Northwest culture./.
