Nearly 1,600 candidates taking the Humanities exam took an exam on the work 'Distant Star'

In 2023, the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities will recruit 170 students for grade 10, including 66 students majoring in Literature, 35 students majoring in History, 35 students majoring in Geography, and 34 students majoring in the high-quality system.

Responding to VietNamNet, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu, Principal of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities, informed that this year, the school received 1,570 applications. This is also the 4th year the school has organized enrollment.

“The High School for Social Sciences and Humanities always focuses on admission to select the best students and train the elite. Therefore, the school decided to make English a compulsory subject.

We consider the three subjects of Math - Literature - English as the spearhead in the educational process, focusing on three main pillars: creative thinking education, language and foreign languages, and information technology. Admissions also aim at these core values ," said Mr. Lieu.

According to the circular of the Ministry of Education and Training on the operating regulations of specialized high schools, from 2014, there will be no enrollment of specialized classes in specialized schools. Mr. Lieu said that the school has specific plans, based on the actual wishes of students in the first 4 courses to make appropriate adjustments.

“In the following years, the school will maintain the quota of about 170 students. However, if there are more requests for the Literature major, the school will make adjustments to allocate quotas appropriately and harmoniously among the specialized classes.”

In 2023, the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities has the highest competition ratio for grade 10 Literature majors at 1/14.7. The average competition ratio for grade 10 at this school is 1/11.6. The results of the admission to specialized classes will be announced by the school before July 1.
