Nearly 140 projects participate in the 2nd Mekong Startup Forum/2024

The Organizing Committee of the Mekong Innovation Competition 2024 has received 136 entries and is currently evaluating and selecting projects for the semi-finals. The final round will take place on November 15th within the framework of the 2nd Mekong Startup Forum 2024.

According to Mr. Tran Tri Quang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province and Head of the Forum's Organizing Committee, preparations are currently being actively carried out. Units are accelerating the progress of remaining tasks to ensure thorough organization and adherence to the set objectives.

According to a report from the Department of Planning and Investment, this week will see preparatory activities for the Forum, including two in-person and online training courses on the topics of green agriculture and green tourism on November 7th and 8th, for startups and innovation organizations in Dong Thap province and the Mekong Delta region.

Provincial departments and agencies, along with the Private Economic Development Research Board (Board IV), are urgently implementing the main contents of the Forum's plenary session, taking place from November 15-16 at the Dong Thap Labor Culture House. This includes preparing content for the panel discussions, technology demonstrations, creating a video clip titled "Green Economy - A New Driving Force for Development" and a documentary: "The Journey to Find the Mekong Green Transformation Initiative 2024"; and producing the Forum's proceedings. Communication and logistical support are also being implemented to ensure the Forum's success.

Vice Chairman Tran Tri Quang emphasized that this year's Forum was more meticulously and elaborately prepared, aiming to promote the momentum of action from both the public and private sectors, focusing on innovative startup businesses, in order to concretize the Government's policy on the planning of the Mekong Delta region for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, which is "Sustainable development, innovation, ensuring harmony with natural advantages, while creating unique characteristics." In particular, the focus is on establishing Dong Thap as the "Green Digital Transformation Solutions Center of the Mekong Delta region" in the current new context.
