According to journalist Doan Thi Tuyet Nhung, Deputy General Director of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), after six award ceremonies from 1996 to 2022, VNA has had the honor of having 19 authors recognized, with 4 Ho Chi Minh Prizes and 18 State Prizes in literature and art, specifically in the field of photography. Among them, journalist and martyr Luong Nghia Dung, the late photographer Vo An Khanh, and journalist Chu Chi Thanh were honored to receive both prizes. The majority of the outstanding photographic works honored were taken during the resistance war against the US. Only the photo series "The Rare Simplicity of a Great Man" (featuring General Vo Nguyen Giap by journalist Tran Van Tuan) was taken after the country's reunification.

“This is a prestigious award from the Party, the State, and the people bestowed upon VNA, upon the news agency's photographers, and upon the courageous journalists who have accompanied the nation during historical moments, contributing to the cause of national liberation, reunification, and the building and protection of the Fatherland. This is a great source of pride and honor for generations of reporters, editors, staff, and workers of VNA,” journalist Doan Thi Tuyet Nhung expressed.
