In Manchester United's Champions League match against Copenhagen this week, goalkeeper Andre Onana was the hero for Man Utd, successfully saving a penalty in the 7th minute of added time, helping the Red Devils secure a 1-0 victory.

After the match, many Manchester United players praised goalkeeper Onana on social media. However, Garnacho's way of complimenting his teammate was quite unconventional. He used an image of a monkey as a caption for a picture of Onana.
This is a rather sensitive move, given that Onana is a black player. Many fans believe Garnacho's actions were racist towards the Cameroonian goalkeeper.
Garnacho immediately deleted his post. However, he couldn't erase the evidence. The English Football Association (FA) contacted the young Manchester United player and began an investigation into his behavior.
According to the British press, Garnacho risks suspension for "serious breaches" of FA rules. In response, goalkeeper Onana has spoken out to defend his teammate.

The Manchester United goalkeeper said: "People can't think of it the way I feel offended. I understand what Garnacho was trying to say. He wanted to talk about power and strength. I think this issue has been taken too far."
Remember, back in 2020, Cavani (while playing for Man Utd) was banned for three matches and fined £100,000 by the FA after responding publicly to a friend's Instagram message with the words "Gracias Negrito." In Spanish, "Negrito" refers to a black person.
Although the Uruguayan striker later explained that he had no racist intent, he still had to pay the price for his actions. Now, Garnacho must prove his innocence or face the same punishment as Cavani.
