World coffee prices
Early this morning, November 8th (Vietnam time), on the London exchange, the price of Robusta coffee futures for November 2024 delivery increased by $113/ton, reaching $4,420/ton. The price for January 2025 delivery increased by $98/ton, reaching $4,346/ton.
Arabica coffee prices on the New York exchange for December 2024 delivery rose by 7.95 cents/lb to 256.70 cents/lb, and for March 2025 delivery rose by 7.85 cents/lb to 255.90 cents/lb.
Domestic coffee prices
Domestic coffee prices today ranged from 105,500 to 106,000 VND/kg, a sharp decrease of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Specifically, in Di Linh, Lam Ha, and Bao Loc districts ( Lam Dong province ), the price of coffee today is being purchased at 105,500 VND/kg.
In Cu M'gar district ( Dak Lak ), the price of coffee today is 106,000 VND/kg. In Ea H'leo district (Dak Lak) and Buon Ho (Dak Lak), the price of coffee today is the same at 105,900 VND/kg.
Domestic coffee prices have fallen sharply.
Similarly, in Dak Nong province, today's coffee prices are being purchased at 106,000 VND/kg in Gia Nghia and 105,900 VND/kg in Dak R'lap.
In Gia Lai province, today's coffee price is 106,000 VND/kg (Chu Prong), while in Pleiku and La Grai it is 105,900 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, the price of coffee today in Kon Tum province is being purchased at 106,000 VND/kg.
World coffee prices fell slightly as the US dollar index rose to its highest level in four months, which has lowered the prices of most commodities, including coffee.
Accordingly, the US dollar surged in the last trading session after Republican candidate Donald Trump declared victory in the US presidential election, with his policies on immigration, tariffs, and trade expected to boost growth in the US.
In addition, a report by the International Coffee Organization (ICO) shows that world coffee exports reached 10.76 million bags in September, a sharp increase of nearly 25% compared to 8.62 million bags in the same period last year.
At the end of the 2023-2024 crop year (October 2023 to September 2024), global coffee exports totaled 137.27 million bags, an increase of 11.7% compared to the 122.92 million bags of the previous crop year.
Specifically, Arabica coffee exports totaled 84.68 million bags compared to 73.51 million bags last year; while Robusta coffee exports reached 52.6 million bags compared to 49.41 million bags during the same period.
