On September 15th, the People's Committee of Hoi An city issued a notice adjusting the regulations for organizing and implementing the pilot model of experiential accommodation with residents of Hoi An Old Town.
The model will be implemented in the Hoi An Old Town area. Priority will be given to houses in alleys and lanes in Zone I and areas adjacent to Zone I. The model will focus on the following wards: Minh An, Cam Pho, and Son Phong.
According to the new regulations of the Hoi An City People's Committee, the business entity operating this model must be a local resident of Hoi An, with a permanent address and actual residence at the house where the activity is planned; have been awarded a Certificate of Merit as an Exemplary Cultural Family at the commune/ward level or higher and have prestige in the local community, or have been recognized as a Cultural Family for three consecutive years.
Priority should be given to and encouragement should be given to households whose livelihoods are closely linked to the production and business activities of traditional industries and crafts; and who engage in cultural and artistic activities… for tourists to participate in and experience.
According to the leaders of the Hoi An City People's Committee, this model gives tourists more opportunities to experience life with the people of Hoi An ancient town. The city hopes this will be a unique cultural and tourism product of Hoi An.
Previously, on May 7th, the People's Committee of Hoi An city issued notice number regarding some regulations for organizing and implementing a pilot model of experiential accommodation with residents of Hoi An Old Town.
However, in practice, the selection of households that meet the city's requirements and regulations to register for this type of service has revealed some aspects that are not entirely appropriate.
