Durian price today 9/9: Thai durian and Ri6 both reduced price

Durian prices today recorded a decrease of 2,000 - 3,000 VND/kg for some varieties. Exports recorded many positive signals.

On the morning of September 9, the domestic durian purchase price continued to decrease slightly. The main reason was the rainy weather which affected the quality of the fruit, especially for Thai durian, many purchasing warehouses paid less than 80,000 VND/kg.

Domestic durian prices

In Dong Nai , Thai durian type A ranges from 79,000 - 83,000 VND/kg, type B from 59,000 - 63,000 VND/kg, type C around 35,000 - 38,000 VND/kg. Ri6 durian type A alone is at 40,000 - 42,000 VND/kg, type B around 25,000 - 27,000 VND/kg. Musang King variety is purchased at 70,000 - 75,000 VND/kg.

In Tay Ninh , the price of Thai durian type A is 80,000 - 83,000 VND/kg, while type B fluctuates from 60,000 - 66,000 VND/kg. Ri6 type A is about 40,000 - 42,000 VND/kg, type B is 25,000 - 27,000 VND/kg, in some places it is only 18,000 VND/kg.

In Binh Phuoc , Thai durian grade A is stable at 83,000 VND/kg, grade B is 63,000 VND/kg. Notably, Thai durian VIP grade A is still at the peak of 105,000 VND/kg. Musang King is stable at 70,000 - 75,000 VND/kg. Ri6 grade A is about 40,000 - 43,000 VND/kg.

In the Central Highlands provinces of Dak Nong, Gia Lai, Dak Lak and Lam Dong, Thai durian ranges from 75,000 to 85,000 VND/kg depending on the type and warehouse. Ri6 is commonly sold at 38,000 to 43,000 VND/kg. Musang King is traded at around 65,000 to 75,000 VND/kg.

Durian exports

Although the export volume decreased by 24.9% compared to the same period last year, durian still brought in 1.2 billion USD for Vietnam in the first 7 months of 2025. Notably, July 2025 recorded a strong growth of 35.4%, reaching nearly 380 million USD.

China continued to be the largest consumer market, accounting for 88% of total turnover, with 1.06 billion USD. In addition, many other markets such as Taiwan, Hong Kong, the US, Japan and Australia also had growth rates ranging from 14.8% to more than 95%.

Notably, Malaysia, the homeland of Musang King, unexpectedly increased its imports of Vietnamese durian by 11 times compared to the same period last year, equivalent to an increase of 1,000%. This country is currently in the top 10 most important export markets of the Vietnamese durian industry.
