Gia Vien Lan spreads humanistic meaning from the Gratitude and Social Security Fund

Great joy has just come to the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh, a member of the Veterans Association of My Son Street, Me Town, when he received the "Comradely Love" house. The new house was completed after 2 months of construction with an area of 50m2, with a total cost of over 200 million VND, showing the affection and love of the whole society for him. Of which, the support source of the District Veterans Association is 40 million VND, taken from the "Repaying gratitude and social security" Fund of Me Town is 10 million VND, the rest is the source of funding from the family, relatives supporting money and construction days.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh said: I am very touched and grateful for the concern and "mutual love" of my teammates and local authorities, people in the village, hamlet, who have supported me with money, working days, and encouraged my family to try to contribute more funds to build a solid and suitable house. From now on, storms will no longer worry my family. Not only the affection, the meaningful gifts given by organizations, unions, and local authorities on the inauguration day also supported, helping my new house to be more spacious and complete, contributing to improving the quality of life for my family.

For the family of Mrs. Pham Thi Thom, a member of the poor women's association of Kinh Chuc village, Gia Phu commune, the new house was built by the district's Women's Association in coordination with a number of organizations, unions of the district, sponsors and local authorities, with a total cost of 157 million VND for a solid 50m2 house. This is a great joy, a dream that Mrs. Thom never dared to think of. Especially, all of this construction funding was called for to sponsor and support her family during the construction process.

On the day of the inauguration of the new house, Mrs. Thom was moved to tears. For her, the elderly couple depended on each other, were both old, in poor health, often sick, and were poor households in the commune. Previously, Mrs. Thom's family lived in a level 4 tiled house that was seriously degraded. So now living in a new, solid, spacious house with a living room, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom is an unimaginable happiness for them.

Mr. Dinh Van Long, Vice Chairman of Gia Phu Commune People's Committee, said: Over the years, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee and organizations in the commune's political system have always identified social security work as the top priority in implementing the socio-economic development tasks of the locality. Solving social security policies well is both a sentiment and a responsibility, showing timely concern and encouragement for poor households and families in difficult circumstances, helping families strive to rise up and stabilize their lives.

With the support and assistance of the Women's Union, Youth Union, Red Cross of Gia Vien district, sponsors such as the Ninh Binh Province Young Entrepreneurs Association, Phu Nhuan Gold and Gemstone Company, the local government of Gia Phu commune has also allocated nearly ten million VND from the commune's "Repaying gratitude and social security" Fund, giving gifts in kind to the family including a set of tables and chairs, a bed and some equipment and household items, ensuring that there are essential items to serve the needs of life. Supporting poor families to have a stable life, contributing to improving income and housing criteria, helping the locality complete the criteria in building a model new rural area and an advanced new rural area.

Ms. Vu Thi Duoc, Vice Chairman of Gia Vien District People's Committee said: Implementing the Provincial Party Committee's policy on building the "Repaying gratitude and social security" Fund to have better conditions to take care of families of meritorious people and poor households, on July 27, 2017, Gia Vien District organized the launch of the movement to build the "Repaying gratitude and social security" Fund for the first time.

In order to effectively implement and mobilize the attention of all levels, sectors and the whole society, the District Party Committee and the District People's Committee have directed to promote information and propaganda work on the purpose and significance of building the Fund to each agency, unit, enterprise and residential area. Thereby raising awareness and respect for the great contributions of those who have contributed to the revolution; promoting the spirit of "mutual love and affection" to share with the less fortunate, ensuring social security with the goal of "leaving no one behind".

Along with that, during the operation, Gia Vien district implemented publicity and transparency in the management and use of the Fund, ensuring timely and appropriate support, creating trust for people and businesses. Supporting the Fund "Repaying gratitude and social security" has become a voluntary act, both a responsibility and a sentiment of agencies, units, localities, organizations, businesses, and people of all walks of life in the district, joining hands to better implement the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" and the spirit of "the whole leaves cover the torn leaves" of the nation.

In 6 years (2017-2022), the district's "Repaying gratitude and social security" Fund has received over 15 billion VND. From the Fund's support, over the past 6 years, 145 gratitude houses, solidarity houses, and warm homes have been built for policy households, poor households, near-poor households, and households with housing difficulties. At the same time, thousands of policy households and poor households have received livelihood support, visits, and gifts on holidays and Tet... with a total amount of over 13 billion VND. With this Fund, many policy households have been better cared for; many poor people have had more conditions to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

Also according to Ms. Vu Thi Duoc, Vice Chairman of Gia Vien District People's Committee, promoting the achieved results, to continue to effectively implement the work of gratitude and social security in the district in 2023 and the following years, the District's "Gratitude and Social Security" Fund Mobilization Committee continues to launch the Fund building.

As a result, at the launching ceremony, over 3.6 billion VND was received from the support of businesses, organizations, individuals and agencies and units in the district. Of which, Xuan Thanh Economic Group supported 2 billion VND; the companies: Hoang Dan LLC, Xuan Quyen Construction LLC, Thien Phu LLC, each unit supported 200 million VND... and many other agencies, units, organizations and individuals.

With the participation of local authorities, the cooperation and consensus of businesses, organizations, individuals and agencies, units, organizations and unions, the activities of gratitude and ensuring social security in Gia Vien district have had a profound influence on all classes of people, contributing to improving the quality of life, showing gratitude to families with revolutionary contributions and providing practical help to the poor and those in difficult circumstances to rise up. Through that, the fine cultural traditions of the nation on love and sharing among each citizen are also promoted, so that no one is disadvantaged or left behind in life.
