The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just issued a document to petroleum wholesalers and distributors regarding the management of domestic retail gasoline and diesel prices. Accordingly, domestic gasoline and diesel prices will continue to rise from 3 PM today (September 4th).
Specifically, the ceiling price for E5RON92 gasoline is 19,851 VND/liter, an increase of 80 VND/liter compared to the current price; RON95-III gasoline has a new price of 20,439 VND/liter, an increase of 76 VND/liter compared to the current price. Along with that, diesel fuel increased by 116 VND/liter, reaching 18,473 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 89 VND/liter, with a new price of 18,314 VND/liter; and fuel oil increased by 116 VND, reaching 15,376 VND/kg.
Regarding the price stabilization fund, since the beginning of the year, the fund has remained unchanged, with no contributions or expenditures for petroleum products. A representative from the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) stated that, prior to the price adjustment, the balance of the price stabilization fund (BOG) at the company was 3,084 billion VND, unchanged from the most recent announcement.
This price adjustment period aims to ensure that domestic fuel price fluctuations are consistent with global fuel price fluctuations; to continue maintaining a reasonable price difference between E5RON92 bio-gasoline and RON95 mineral gasoline to encourage the use of biofuels in accordance with the Government's policy; and to ensure a balance of interests among market participants.
In the previous price adjustment on August 28th, E5RON92 gasoline increased by 307 VND/liter; RON95-III gasoline increased by 271 VND/liter. Along with that, diesel increased by 452 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 411 VND/liter and fuel oil increased by 144 VND/kg.
According to Decree No. 80/2023/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP dated November 1, 2021 and Decree No. 83/2014/ND-CP dated September 3, 2014 of the Government on petroleum business, the time for adjusting petroleum prices is carried out every Thursday.
