Charity pickleball tournament for orphans

The 3rd pickleball tournament 'Continuing life with children' hosted by Thanh Nien Newspaper, held yesterday (June 29) at DSP field, Xuan Tan ward, Long Khanh city, Dong Nai was a great success.

Mr. Do Chanh Quang, Chairman of Long Khanh City People's Committee; Mr. Tang Quoc Lap, Vice Chairman of Long Khanh City People's Committee; Mr. Tran Vinh Hien, Head of Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Long Khanh City Party Committee, came to encourage the athletes competing in the tournament. On the side of the organizing unit, there was Mr. Vo Dai Khoi, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Young Entrepreneurs Association; Mr. Nguyen Ba Phi and Mr. Tung Ngo, representatives of DSP pickleball court; artist Huy Khanh and many other units and philanthropists.

At the opening ceremony, the benefactors directly donated a total of 150 million VND to help 50 orphaned students in the program "Continuing Life with Children" (each child received 3 million VND in cash) and gifts including school bags, school supplies, and food.

Of this 150 million VND, Mr. Pham Huu Phu, Deputy Director of Sacombank Long Khanh branch, donated 60 million VND; Ho Chi Minh City Young Entrepreneurs Association (YBA) donated 25 million VND; Ms. Van (Nga market in Ho Chi Minh City) donated 50 million VND; a group of readers Pham Van Sy, Le Hoang Tu, Duong Trung Dung, Nguyen Viet Thang, Nguyen Thi Thu Hang donated 15 million VND.

Emotional Pickleball Tournament

Launched on September 16, 2021, the program "Continuing Life with Children" was launched by Thanh Nien Newspaper to provide long-term care and sponsorship for orphans due to the Covid-19 pandemic when they unfortunately lost their father, mother, or both parents. The first "Continuing Life with Children" pickleball tournament was held in Nha Trang ( Khanh Hoa ) in 2024, awarding 100 million VND to orphans. The second time, the tournament was held in Ho Chi Minh City in April 2025, directly awarding 112 million VND to orphans.
