The application of digital technology and artificial intelligence has been identified by the provincial Department of Education and Training as an important solution to improve the quality of education . Therefore, the entire industry has proactively deployed technological solutions to support professional and technical activities.
Digital technology applications
Mr. Dang Hung Cuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, said: Digital transformation is one of the key tasks of the sector. In recent times, the department has strengthened its direction and encouraged the initiative of educational institutions and individuals in applying information technology and digital transformation in performing assigned tasks. We also focus on investing in and upgrading information technology infrastructure, deploying shared digital platforms such as school management systems, digital learning material warehouses and online teaching applications. At the same time, the department closely coordinates with telecommunications and technology enterprises (VNPT, Viettel , etc.) to build and upgrade digital infrastructure, school management ecosystems, electronic information portals, and educational management software. This creates a synchronous and convenient digital environment for both teachers and students.
To effectively implement digital transformation goals, every year, the Department of Education and Training strengthens the Digital Transformation Team, deploys information technology application plans, exploits digital platforms, and supports staff and teachers in the entire sector in information technology. Up to now, 100% of schools in the province have staff in charge and core teams in information technology and digital transformation.
A highlight in recent times is the putting into operation of the Industry Database System and the Intelligent Education Operation Center (IOC EDU) from the 2021-2022 school year. This system collects and manages all standardized information about schools, classrooms, students, teachers, facilities, educational activities... at schools in the province. At the same time, the system allows real-time data monitoring, supporting analysis and forecasting of enrollment trends, student streaming, learning quality, teacher needs, classrooms, equipment... Up to now, the whole province has 648 schools using school management software, contributing to the digitization of management activities, creating a foundation for digital transformation in the education sector.
Along with that, since 2022, the Department of Education and Training has developed VNPT Meeting online meeting rooms and other platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Zoom Cloud Meetings... to units and schools in the province to serve meetings, professional activities as well as teaching. In particular, the whole sector has equipped 17,800 digital certificates for staff and teachers to serve the digital signing of electronic records and books such as teaching books, digital report cards, electronic lesson plans... 100% of schools in the province have implemented payment of tuition fees and educational service fees by non-cash payment methods.
Along with the application of digital technology in management, the application of information technology and artificial intelligence in teaching is also promoted by the whole industry. In the 2024-2025 school year, the Department of Education and Training has piloted the deployment of digital platforms and the application of artificial intelligence in teaching at 40 secondary and high schools in the province. The application of artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching and learning is like a breath of fresh air, helping teachers express creative ideas in lectures, while stimulating students' curiosity, making them more interested in learning.
Ms. Lam Thi Nga, a Math teacher at Tam Thanh Secondary School, Tam Thanh Ward, said: Currently, I am using the Vitanbrain platform in teaching to help improve students' memory. With this platform, teachers can create sets of questions to review knowledge and assign homework. In addition, I am also guiding students to use artificial intelligence to create learning websites.
Improve educational efficiency
In May 2025, we had the opportunity to go to Tam Thanh Secondary School to attend a Math class of class 7A1 with the content of triangular prisms and quadrilateral prisms. The class became exciting when the teacher checked the students' lesson preparation through a quick quiz game on the TV screen. When students answered incorrectly, the virtual assistant would repeat or supplement the knowledge for students to remember. In the main content, the drawings, illustrations, and exercises in the textbook were converted by the teacher into 3D images, clips, and shown on the TV screen very vividly, easy to understand, creating an exciting learning atmosphere. To build such vivid learning content, the teacher used artificial intelligence in the process of building the lecture.
Tran Phan, a student of class 7A1, Tam Thanh Secondary School, Tam Thanh Ward, shared: In my class, everyone likes lessons that apply digital technology. Thanks to the support of artificial intelligence, knowledge becomes easier to understand, vivid illustrations help me update knowledge faster. My teacher also guided me to build a website to support learning Math, which helps me be more proactive in learning.
In recent times, many schools in the province have deployed software such as online learning support, testing, assessment, digital learning materials, digital libraries, etc. in a comprehensive, synchronous and connected direction with school management software according to identification codes. In addition, digital technology is also applied in class observation, testing, and organizing the "connected class" model. This activity not only enhances professional exchanges but also creates conditions for teachers and students in many areas to exchange and study on information technology platforms.
Thanks to the synchronous implementation of digital transformation solutions, in the 2024-2025 school year, most schools will use digital teaching equipment, virtual experiments, and simulation software in teaching. Digital technology also contributes to improving the quality of education in the province. In the 2024-2025 school year, the whole province will have 34 prizes in national competitions for excellent students (an increase of 1 prize compared to the 2023-2024 school year); 3 national Science and Technology prizes for high school students (2 second place, 1 third place); 2 national Startup prizes for students (1 second place, 1 third place). In addition, the whole province has more than 4,700 secondary school students with the ability to program and control robots. Typically, Tam Thanh Secondary School, in the 2024-2025 school year, the school's robot team won the national first prize in the Humanoid Robot category, the second prize in the Huna soccer robot category, the third prize in the national STEM competition, and the consolation prize in the AI & Robotics Challenge competition...
Digital transformation has been bringing practical benefits to the provincial education and training sector. Online management systems help reduce administrative procedures and improve the effectiveness of leadership and management. Modern educational methods and rich learning materials help expand learning spaces, encourage teachers' creativity and students' initiative. At the same time, the coordination between families and schools is also closer through digital platforms. Thereby, it can be seen that digital transformation has both changed thinking and methods of performing tasks and created motivation for innovation, contributing significantly to building a modern, effective and integrated Lang Son education system.
