Cultural exchange and tourism of "poetry and painting" of Zhejiang in Vietnam

VHO - On the afternoon of November 4 in Hanoi, the Department of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism of Zhejiang Province (China), the Chinese Cultural Center in Hanoi coordinated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize the Zhejiang "poetry and painting" cultural and tourism exchange program in Vietnam. Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong attended the program.

Speaking at the program, Vice Governor of the People's Government of Zhejiang Province (China) Hu Wei said that Zhejiang is located on the southeast coast of China, is one of the important cradles of Chinese civilization, and is an important intersection on both the ancient Silk Road on land and at sea.

Not only to introduce the poetic landscape and humanistic appeal of Zhejiang, Mr. Ho Vi emphasized, the program is carried out with the desire to use culture and tourism as a bridge, so that more Vietnamese friends can come to Zhejiang, learn about Zhejiang; to bring the hearts of the people of both sides closer together.

“We hope that this promotion conference will be the starting point to promote the friendship between the two sides' tourist areas, travel companies to promote tourism routes together and cultural agencies to build projects together, so that people on both sides can feel the beauty of the intersection of two cultures on each journey,” said Mr. Ho Vi.

According to Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong, cultural exchange and tourism cooperation between Vietnam and China is a traditional relationship based on the long-standing neighborly friendship between the two countries.

In 1992, the two governments signed an Agreement on Cultural Cooperation. On that basis, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China periodically signed and implemented the Cultural and Tourism Cooperation Plan.

Particularly in recent times, cultural and tourism cooperation activities at the ministerial and local levels of the two countries have been vigorously implemented. The vibrant cultural introduction and tourism promotion programs on both sides have gradually contributed to the development of tourism and cultural cooperation between the two countries, which is good and sustainable, worthy of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and China, contributing to the building of a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance.

The Deputy Minister affirmed that Zhejiang is one of the strategically important provinces of China - both a dynamic economic center and a land with a long-standing culture and rich tourism potential. Tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Zhejiang has had positive initial steps based on the memorandum of understanding signed by the two sides in 2010.

“This program is an important step for both sides to open up new cooperation opportunities, so that more and more Vietnamese tourists can see with their own eyes the “poetry” called Zhejiang, and vice versa, so that Zhejiang friends can discover the beauty of Vietnam - from Ha Long Bay, a world natural heritage, to Hoi An ancient town with its shimmering lanterns, from the majestic Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park to the peaceful and friendly Mekong Delta,” said Deputy Minister Ho An Phong.

The Deputy Minister also affirmed that the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will create all favorable conditions for the development of tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Zhejiang in particular and Vietnam and China in general.

Along with that, Deputy Minister Ho An Phong proposed a number of key cooperation contents in the coming time.

In particular, the two sides need to actively implement the Vietnam-China Cultural and Tourism Cooperation Plan for the 2023-2027 period, in which cooperation with Zhejiang is one of the important priorities. The tourism management agencies of the two sides need to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation or establish a specific cooperation framework, creating a solid legal basis for promoting long-term tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Zhejiang.

Encourage and support travel businesses of both sides to survey, familiarize themselves with products and services, design and build high-quality tours to serve tourists, aiming at sustainable tourism development.

Along with that, it creates conditions for airlines on both sides to exploit each other's markets, encourages the opening of new routes and increases flight frequency between localities, meeting the increasing travel needs of tourists.

The Deputy Minister also hopes that both sides will continue to innovate to promote the role of media agencies and social networks to promote the destinations of the two countries, so that people on both sides can understand each other better, both increasing friendship and attracting tourism...

For his part, Charge d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam Wang Qun stated that Vietnam has always been a friendly neighbor, a trustworthy friend, a good comrade and partner of China.

“In recent years, cooperation and exchange between Vietnam and China in the fields of culture and tourism have been increasingly strengthened, cultural exchange activities have taken place more frequently, the scale of two-way tourism has continuously expanded and has achieved many outstanding results.

The two sides are actively implementing the Cultural and Tourism Cooperation Plan for the 2023-2027 period, while promoting many exchange activities, tourism promotion and cooperation at different levels between the two countries. It can be said that cultural and tourism cooperation between Vietnam and China is in its strongest development phase,” Mr. Vuong Quan shared.

This promotion program is an important step to strengthen cultural and tourism cooperation and promote the connection between the people of Vietnam and China.

Zhejiang's rich cultural and tourism resources, development experience and innovative spirit will bring completely new feelings and experiences to the Vietnamese people.
