Mr. Nguyen Van Trung, Deputy Director of the Provincial Center for Innovation and Application of Science and Technology, emphasized in his speech that the conference serves as a bridge to introduce advanced technologies and equipment in the field of processing medicinal plants, spices, and by-products from fruit trees; helping establishments, businesses, cooperatives, and farmers access and choose suitable technological solutions, enhancing the value of fruit trees and medicinal plants, especially dragon fruit, which is a competitive crop in the province.


At the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Huynh Cang, Deputy Head of the Department of Chemical and Food Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, introduced a technology for processing several types of fruit tree by-products, suitable for dragon fruit, durian, and pomelo from Binh Thuan province. By-products such as dragon fruit peel, pomelo peel, and durian peel, when properly processed by cooperatives and farmers, can produce useful cosmetics for daily life and health care, enhancing the value of local fruit crops. In addition, guests from agricultural and processing businesses inside and outside the province presented topics on: multi-material essential oil distillation equipment for various herbs and some flower species in Vietnam; equipment for processing medicinal plants and fruit products; and technology and equipment for processing medicinal plants. These processing technologies are suitable for medicinal plants in Binh Thuan.


Speakers at the conference answered questions from businesses, cooperatives, and farmers regarding investment in processing technology, application of high technology, usage guidelines, effectiveness of models for local fruit trees, and linkages for consumption to expand markets.
