Mr. Nguyen Van Trung, Deputy Director of the Provincial Center for Innovation and Application of Science and Technology, emphasized that the conference is a bridge to introduce advanced technology and equipment in the field of processing medicinal plants, spices, and by-products from fruit trees; helping establishments, businesses, cooperatives, and farmers access and choose appropriate technological solutions, increasing the value of fruit trees and medicinal plants for crops, especially dragon fruit, an advantage in the province.


At the conference, Associate Professor, Dr. Mai Huynh Cang, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, introduced the technology for processing some types of by-products from fruit trees, suitable for Binh Thuan dragon fruit as well as local durian and grapefruit. By-products such as dragon fruit peel, grapefruit peel, durian peel, invested in by facilities, cooperatives, and farmers for appropriate processing, will produce useful cosmetics for daily life, health care; enhance the value of local fruit trees... Along with that, guests from agricultural and processing enterprises in and outside the province also presented topics on: Multi-ingredient essential oil distillation equipment for spices and some flowers in Vietnam; equipment for processing medicinal plants and products from fruit trees; technology and equipment for processing medicinal plants. The above processing technologies are suitable for medicinal plants in Binh Thuan.


Speakers attending the conference answered questions from establishments, businesses, cooperatives, and farmers about investment in processing technology, application of high technology, usage specifications, effectiveness of models with local fruit trees, as well as linking consumption to expand the market.
