Google Photos updates new 'Create' feature using AI for Android and iOS

After simplifying to three items in the bottom bar earlier this year, Google Photos is rolling out a new “Create” tab.

A major update is rolling out to Google Photos on August 13, finally bringing to center stage the photo-editing features Google previously teased back in July.

Google Photos has been updated to v7.40 with the previously announced “Create” tab. The company said it was looking to release this new hub for creativity-focused features in August, and we see it now appearing in the bottom navigation bar.

As announced last month, Google Photos wants to provide a single place to access various "creative tools." Appearing between Collections and Ask/Search, Create has a paintbrush icon. From the "Create" tab, users can easily access features like Collages, Cinematic Photos, Animate (to create GIFs), and Featured Videos .

Currently, Google is using the top box to highlight Photos to Video. Your Tools grid lists the Live Photos, Cinematic (3D) Photos, Collages, Featured Videos, Photos to Video, and Remix tools.

With GIF function, allows you to create fast motion GIF animations from selected photos and videos.

The Cinematic function adds 3D motion effects to photos.

Photo Collage : Combine multiple photos into a stylish layout.

Featured Video : Video with background music using photos and videos.

Photo to Video : Animate photos and turn still moments into vibrant six-second video clips.

Remix : Transform your photos into different styles, such as "Anime". This feature is still in the works.

Edit photos in Google Photos with built-in AI.
