Da Nang City People's Court improves trial quality, promotes judicial reform to serve the people

DNO - On the afternoon of October 6, the People's Court of Da Nang city held a conference to deploy the work of the two-level People's Courts of the city in 2026 in the form of in-person and online meetings at 12 locations at the headquarters of the People's Courts in the regions.

Attending the conference were Party Central Committee member, Party Secretary, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Van Quang; Party Central Committee member, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Le Ngoc Quang; Deputy Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the City People's Committee Pham Duc An; Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city Le Tri Thanh; Head of the City Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee Vo Cong Chanh; Head of the City Party Committee's Organization Committee Doan Duy Tan.

In 2025, the two-level People's Court of the city will proactively and effectively implement many tasks at the same time, 100% of the units will exceed the targets assigned by the National Assembly by 10-20%. The two-level People's Court of the city will resolve 25,952 cases out of a total of 27,697 cases (reaching a rate of nearly 93.64%).

All types of cases and incidents are brought to trial and resolved promptly, in accordance with legal regulations. Cases and incidents under the supervision and direction of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the Steering Committee on anti-corruption, waste and negativity of the city are brought to trial and resolved promptly.

Mediation and dialogue work according to the Law on Mediation, judicial reform, digital transformation, building e-Courts, and applying information technology in management, operation, and professional activities of two-level People's Courts have been enhanced.

In 2026, the two-level People's Court of the city will focus on a number of key tasks, including: effectively implementing the tasks and annual work targets; closely and effectively coordinating with the prosecution agencies and relevant agencies in investigation, prosecution and trial activities; doing a good job of receiving people, promptly resolving complaints and denunciations.

Improve the effectiveness of judicial administrative reform; strengthen inspection and professional examination work, improve the quality and effectiveness of trial activities of the two-level People's Courts of the city...

Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Le Ngoc Quang praised the efforts of the entire sector and suggested that in the coming time, the two-level People's Courts of the city need to continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on the judiciary and judicial reform; strengthen control of power according to the Central's regulations; improve the quality of the fight against corruption and asset recovery; and promote Party building associated with industry building.

The City Party Secretary suggested that the City People's Court Party Committee should build close relationships with local Party committees, regional People's Courts and relevant prosecution agencies to speed up the investigation, prosecution and trial of cases and incidents; especially cases under the supervision and direction of the City Party Committee Standing Committee and the Steering Committee on anti-corruption and anti-negativity.

Strengthen the responsibility of the court in resolving administrative, civil, commercial and labor cases; proactively advise the City Party Committee and People's Committee on solutions to thoroughly resolve complicated cases, cases of public concern, and long-standing complaints. Focus on doing a good job of mediation in resolving civil cases and dialogue in resolving administrative cases.

The Standing Committee of the City Party Committee highly agreed with the Digital Transformation Project, the construction of an e-Court and considered this one of the important steps to bring Da Nang into the top 5 localities leading in the index of serving people and businesses in handling administrative procedures, the provincial innovation index, and the digital transformation index in 2026.

In his speech at the conference, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Van Quang highly appreciated the outstanding results achieved by the two-level People's Court of Da Nang City; especially the rate of resolving all types of cases in general, exceeding the target assigned by the National Assembly and the Supreme People's Court by 11.3%. This rate helps the two-level People's Court of Da Nang City become one of the five localities with the highest rate of resolving cases in the country.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court suggested that in the coming time, the two-level People's Courts of Da Nang city need to further strengthen the leadership and direction of the Party Committee so that the court's activities closely follow the local political tasks and contribute to construction and development.

Linking Party building work with industry building work, strengthening discipline and public service discipline; building a team of court officials, especially those holding judicial positions, to be honest, courageous, self-respecting, "have a bright mind and a compassionate heart".

The two-level People's Courts of the city need to improve the quality and rate of case settlement, shorten the settlement time; further promote mediation and dialogue in the process of accepting and resolving cases; do a good job of receiving citizens and resolving complaints and denunciations. At the same time, prioritize investment of resources for regional courts to focus on settlement, improve the quality of first-instance trials, limit the prolongation and occurrence of additional litigation procedures.

On this occasion, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Van Quang presented 1 billion VND to support people affected by natural disasters in Da Nang city.

Two units of the People's Court of Region 2 and Region 3 received the Emulation Flag of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court; many individuals were recognized as advanced models, awarded the title of People's Court Emulation Fighter, Certificates of Merit and many other forms of rewards.
