Vietnam Airlines ranked most punctual

Vietnam Airlines was among the top five most punctual airlines in the Asia- Pacific region in April, with 81.85% of flights on time.

This is an outstanding result for Vietnam's national airline as April coincides with Vietnam's 5-day holiday (April 27 - May 1), increasing the number of passengers and putting pressure on airport infrastructure. Previously, this airline ranked 9th in the top most punctual airlines in the Asia- Pacific region in 2023, with an on-time flight rate of 77.46% out of a total of 150,674 flights. Japan Airlines leads the Asia-Pacific region rankings with an on-time flight rate of 88.17%, followed by Japan's All Nippon Airways (87.21%), Malaysia's Air Asia (85.48%) and Japan's Peach Aviation (84.19%), according to data analysis by Cirium. An airline's on-time performance is measured by whether its aircraft arrive at the gate within 15 minutes of its scheduled arrival time and depart within 15 minutes of its scheduled departure time. Globally, the most punctual airline is Mexico's AeroMexico, with an on-time rating of 88.83%, followed by Japan Airlines at 88.17% and Japan's All Nippon Airways at 87.21%. Cirium compiles the list by analyzing 600 sources of real-time flight information, ensuring accuracy from airports, air traffic service providers, global distribution, airlines, location data, civil aviation authorities, the internet and proprietary data partnerships.
