PV: First of all, can you give us an overview of the outstanding achievements of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Business Association in the second term (2020-2025)?

Mr. Nguyen Van Thang: During the last term, despite being heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and fluctuations in the world economy , the Thai Nguyen Provincial Business Association still made efforts to maintain stable operations. We have connected and gathered a large number of members and currently have over 1,300 businesses participating in activities.

The Association has organized many dialogue conferences and business connection programs, thereby creating a bridge between enterprises and the government, while promoting production and consumption links within the bloc.

In addition, member enterprises are also very active in participating in social security work. During the past term, the total amount of money and goods donated to social and charitable activities of the provincial business community reached hundreds of billions of VND. This affirms the increasingly high role and social responsibility of Thai Nguyen enterprises.

PV: Besides the achieved results, surely the Provincial Business Association also encountered many difficulties, sir?

Mr. Nguyen Van Thang: That's right. The biggest challenge is still the limited competitiveness of many businesses, small scale, difficulty in accessing capital, applying new technology and expanding the market. A part of businesses are not really closely connected within the Association.

In addition, resources for the Association's activities depend largely on voluntary contributions from members, so they are sometimes limited. However, thanks to solidarity and sharing, the Association still maintains its role as a representative and protector of the legitimate interests of businesses.

PV: In recent times, Thai Nguyen province has had many policies and guidelines to accompany the business community. How do you evaluate this attention?

Mr. Nguyen Van Thang: It can be said that Thai Nguyen province always considers enterprises as the core force in socio-economic development. Provincial leaders regularly organize conferences to meet, dialogue, listen and remove difficulties for enterprises. Mechanisms and policies to support startups, innovation, digital transformation, administrative procedure reform, etc. are all implemented synchronously by the province.

In particular, many recommendations from the Association and the business community have been promptly handled by the province's departments and branches. Thanks to that, Thai Nguyen's investment and business environment has continuously been among the leading groups in the country in terms of PCI and PAR Index. This is the motivation and confidence for businesses to confidently invest long-term, expand production scale, and contribute to the development of the province.

PV: What are the expectations of the business community of Thai Nguyen province when Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW dated May 4, 2025 of the Politburo on private economic development is implemented, sir?

Mr. Nguyen Van Thang: Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW is highly appreciated by the business community because it is a major policy, aiming to create an open investment and business environment, promoting the development of the private economic sector. Thai Nguyen enterprises expect that the Resolution will be concretized into practical policies and solutions, such as: simplifying administrative procedures, improving industrial and logistics infrastructure, supporting access to credit capital, and developing high-quality human resources.

More importantly, we hope that Resolution 68 will continue to affirm the commitment of the Government and local authorities to accompany enterprises, creating conditions for enterprises to expand production, improve competitiveness, thereby contributing more to the sustainable development of the province and the whole country.

PV: In the new term, when the business communities of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan have merged, what operational directions will the Association set to meet new requirements, sir?

Mr. Nguyen Van Thang: The merger of the two provinces opens up great opportunities for businesses to expand their markets and exploit the advantages of both localities. We have determined the motto of the new term as: “Solidarity - Pioneering - Integration - Development”.

The Association will focus on three main directions: First, expanding the membership network, strengthening business links between Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan, creating community strength.

Second, promote investment - trade - tourism promotion activities, support businesses to access new technology and export markets.

Third, continue to promote the role in social security activities, linking business development with community responsibility.

The Association will also enhance digital transformation in its operations, build a digital portal and electronic newsletter to promptly share information with members. At the same time, we aim to have at least 100 more businesses join the Association by 2030, mobilize about 50 billion VND for social security work, and organize training and development for about 5,000 entrepreneurs.

We believe that, with the support of the government and the spirit of solidarity and dynamism of businessmen, the Association will make a worthy contribution to the goal of sustainable, modern and unique socio-economic development.

PV: Thank you!
