Every year, from June to the end of September, the people of Van Hoa commune are busy welcoming tourists to visit the red tree garden (ground mulberry) because this is also the time when the fruit changes color from green to red. The clusters of fruit cover the tree trunks and the whole garden, creating a space filled with red, attracting many tourists to sightsee, take pictures, and tourism services have also developed since then.
Ba Muoi Red Garden (Van Hoa Commune) has about 20 red trees; in which the oldest tree is nearly 100 years old, attracting the most people to take pictures. Ms. Ha Thi Thu Suong, the garden owner, shared: “Before tourism, each red fruit season, farmers mainly sold to people who came to buy and collect fruit for snacks. Many households used ripe fruit to make red wine for their family life. Later, red trees became known to many people, red gardens became tourist attractions, so many garden owners opened tourism, and their income was also improved.”

Summer is also the time when many fruits such as jackfruit, custard apple, pineapple, etc. ripen. At this time, cooperatives in Phu Hoa 1, Phu Hoa 2, Hoa My, Son Thanh communes, etc. not only build brands for local fruits but also combine experiential tourism activities.
Mr. Ngo Quoc Dung, Director of Dung Lo Chai High-Tech Agricultural Cooperative (Phu Hoa 2 Commune) said that the unit planned 5 hectares to become a tourist destination for sightseeing, caring for and harvesting fruit trees. Visitors to the garden can both plant and care for the trees themselves and pick and enjoy fresh fruits right on the spot. In addition, to create more entertainment space for visitors, the unit also created miniature swimming pools, cyclos, and resting huts... Jackfruit and custard apple are two types of fruit that have been certified as 3-star OCOP, and the cooperative's garden also meets the standards of a new rural model garden.
"Combining agriculture with tourism not only helps increase fruit consumption but also creates additional revenue from other entertainment services...", Mr. Dung said.
In addition to Dung Lo Chai High-Tech Agricultural Cooperative, many cooperatives in the eastern region of the province have successfully built resort models combined with production and become attractive destinations for tourists. These include BB Farm, a strawberry and hydroponic vegetable farm of BB Agricultural and Service Cooperative, Moc Mien Rocky Garden of An My Agricultural and Community Tourism Cooperative... Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Director of An My Agricultural and Community Tourism Cooperative, said: To create more impressions for the homestay service, the unit organizes many experiential activities from growing vegetables, transplanting rice to making rice paper, making pancakes, making cakes... These traditional activities imbued with local culture have created a living space close to nature for tourists.

From Tuy Hoa ward, Mr. Tran Anh Quan's family went to Co Ba Tham's red garden to play on the weekend. After taking pictures, sightseeing and enjoying the red fruits, he and his wife ordered food and bought more jackfruit, avocado, banana, and dragon fruit to bring home. Mr. Quan shared: "Admiring the red fruits is one part, the main thing is that I want to take my wife and children to the plateau to enjoy the cool air in the hot summer sun and enjoy dishes that can only be found here such as fragrant chicken with fish sauce, grilled wild quail... I also bought more fruits at the garden because these are available agricultural products, so they are both cheap and clean."
According to Ms. Tran Thi Hanh, owner of Co Ba Tham red garden, in addition to income from garden entrance fees, her family also has income from accompanying food and beverage services. Visitors also help local agricultural products such as bamboo shoots, jackfruit, avocado, etc. sell for higher prices.
It is known that during the peak tourist season, the gardens can generate revenue of 10-20 million VND per day. Every year, the number of garden owners opening up for tourism is increasing and the services to serve customers are becoming more professional.
Mr. Le Van Quy, Secretary of the Party Committee of Van Hoa commune, said that over the past 5 years, tourism activities in the locality have been bustling and brought about positive results, with a number of tourist attractions such as Uncle Ho Church Relic, Spring Hall, BB Fam, Long Van Garden, Rose Garden, Son Xuan Red Garden... In the coming time, the locality will focus on investing heavily in tourism development, prioritizing the development of community tourism products, agricultural and rural tourism; increasing investment attraction to form a number of tourist attractions to create highlights for the locality.
