
Attending the plaque unveiling ceremony were: General Nguyen Doan Anh, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; and General Pham Truong Son, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.
Also attending were Ms. Bach Lien Huong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports ; representatives from various departments and agencies of Hanoi city; leaders of Thuong Tin commune; and representatives of the family and clan.
Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Xuan Minh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Thuong Tin commune, said that both newly completed roads were officially inaugurated today, including: Le Cong Hanh road, 1,180m long, with a 6m wide carriageway and 4m wide sidewalks on both sides; and Doan Tue road, 1,210m long and 32m wide (10.5m wide carriageway on each side, 5m wide sidewalks on each side, and a 1m wide median strip).

Naming streets after the distinguished figure Le Cong Hanh and the Hero of the People's Armed Forces Doan Tue demonstrates the profound gratitude of the Party, the State, and the people towards these outstanding sons and daughters of the nation, contributing to the dissemination of the great values of our ancestors regarding intellect, patriotism, and lifelong dedication to the country.
Previously, on July 20, 2025, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Decision No. 3862/QD-UBND naming, renaming, and adjusting the length of some roads, streets, and public works in the city in 2025, including Le Cong Hanh and Doan Tue roads.
According to Uong Thi Phuong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuong Tin commune, Hanoi, the ceremony to unveil the street names of the renowned figure Le Cong Hanh and the Hero of the People's Armed Forces Doan Tue is not simply for convenience in urban management, but each street name also integrates many typical cultural and historical values of national heroes, prominent figures, and meritorious individuals from the localities.
The commune has proactively developed plans, reviewed and prepared dossiers for the proposed naming and adjustment of the length of street names and new public works according to procedures, ensuring progress and quality.
The proposal to name streets in the city helps people easily identify business addresses, while also serving to promote the history, traditions, and culture of the nation.


Le Cong Hanh was an official during the Later Le Dynasty and is also revered as the founder of traditional embroidery in Vietnam. He was posthumously awarded the title of Minister of the Imperial Court, Grand Tutor, and Duke of Luong Quan. His annual death anniversary is celebrated as the founding day of the embroidery craft in villages where people make their living. In the former Thuong Tin district, there is the Ngu Xa Temple (established by the people of five former villages) dedicated to him.
Hero of the People's Armed Forces of Vietnam Doan Tue (1917-1995) was born in An Lang village, Van Tu commune, Thuong Tin district (formerly), now An Lang village, Phu Xuyen commune. He was formerly the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and the Commander of the Artillery Corps. For his exceptional contributions to the revolution, he was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the President of Vietnam in January 2025.
