On the morning of December 12th, at Le Thanh Nghi ward, the Hai Phong Department of Agriculture and Environment organized a conference to disseminate resolutions and agricultural production plans for 2026 to leaders of localities in the western area of ​​the city.

According to information presented at the conference, in 2025, despite the impacts of administrative unit restructuring, growth in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries will still reach 4.33%, exceeding the set plan. Rice yield for the whole year is estimated at 62.4 quintals/hectare/crop, nearly 6 quintals/hectare higher than in 2024. The area of ​​vegetables and fruit trees will increase, with lychee production reaching 64,700 tons, a significant increase compared to the previous year.

Livestock farming continued to develop with a total pig herd of over 633,000 head. Meat production reached nearly 267,000 tons. Egg production reached 950 million eggs. The aquaculture sector recorded a production of over 201,000 tons, an increase of 6.3%.

Hai Phong's agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector growth in 2025 will exceed the set target.

In implementing the tasks for 2026, the leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment requested that localities promptly develop production plans that closely reflect reality, organize planting and sowing at the right time, prioritize the use of high-quality seeds, and strictly control input materials.

For vegetable crops, farmers are encouraged to improve soil quality and switch to other crops in less productive farming areas; implement mass rodent control at the beginning of the season; proactively organize full vaccination for livestock; and ensure the efficient operation of the on-farm irrigation system.

Focus on disseminating information so that cooperatives and production households understand the mechanisms and policies encouraging the development of concentrated commercial agricultural production in the period 2026-2030, and the regulations on principles, support levels, and use of funds supporting rice land according to the resolution of the City People's Council...
