(Dan Tri) - One of the greatest Thai football players Kiatisuk Senamuang sent his congratulations to the Vietnamese team after the AFF Cup 2024 final on the evening of January 5.
On his personal page, Kiatisuk expressed: "Congratulations on the Southeast Asian championship cup of the Vietnamese team."
Although a former Thai player, Kiatisuk's professional career has been closely associated with Vietnamese football. During the golden age of "Thai Zico", he played for Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) in the V-League. He helped Mr. Duc's team win the V-League twice in 2003 and 2004.

After that, Kiatisuk was the coach of HAGL in different periods. The last time Kiatisuk worked in Vietnam was not long ago. Kiatisuk coached the HAGL team from 2020-2024.
Coach Kiatisuk then led the Hanoi Police Football Club (CAHN) for a short time, before the Thai coach left the team at the end of last season for family reasons.
In addition to congratulating the 2024 AFF Cup championship, Kiatisuk also encouraged the Thai team: "Hold your heads high, Thai players. You must continue to fight in the next tournaments."
In the second leg of the AFF Cup 2024 final on the evening of January 5, at Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok, the Thai team lost to the Vietnamese team 2-3, with Thailand losing 3-5 overall after two home and away matches.
Mr. Kiatisuk also led the Thai national team from 2014 to 2017. As a coach, Mr. Kiatisuk won the AFF Cup twice in 2014 and 2016. As a player, Mr. Kiatisuk won the AFF Cup three times with the Thai national team in 1996, 2000 and 2002.
On the evening of January 5, Thai and Southeast Asian football legend Kiatisuk was the one who carried the AFF Cup out of the Rajamangala Stadium tunnel, before the second leg of the final began.
