This is a special art program that the Ministry of Public Security directed the Department of Political Affairs to organize at Ho Guom Theater to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory Day over Fascism (May 9, 1945 - May 9, 2025). The program aims to honor humanistic values and spread the message of peace around the world, especially the friendship between the two countries of Vietnam and the Russian Federation.
The organizers said that the program "Victory Song" is a meaningful activity, held during the days when the whole country is joyfully celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country with many meaningful activities. As one of the countries that have experienced war and been colonized, the Vietnamese people always cherish the values of peace, and are more deeply aware of the meaning of victory of peace-loving forces and the spirit of solidarity among countries around the world .

The victory over fascism opened up opportunities for many countries in Europe and Asia to rise up and eliminate the shackles of colonialism, build and gradually form a global socialist system. The Soviet Union, as a leading force, not only contributed to protecting world peace but also became a spiritual and material support for the national liberation movement in many places, including Indochina, specifically Vietnam, which rose up to regain independence and freedom after decades of occupation.
Throughout nearly a century, the former Soviet Union (now the Russian Federation) has always accompanied the Vietnamese people in the struggle for independence, national liberation, national unification and in the construction of socialism. Russia is not only a great friend in politics, defense and economy but also contributes to nurturing the souls of many generations of Vietnamese people with a culture imbued with humanity, depth and generosity. To this day, the spirit and beauty of Russian culture and art still exist in the lives of Vietnamese people and are spread through many cultural exchange activities between the two countries.
In the program “Song of Victory”, the artists will introduce to the public many world-famous musical works such as: “Symphony No. 5 (Finale)” by composer Dmitri Shostakovich; “Overture 1812, op. 49 (Finale)” by composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky, along with some Russian songs with Vietnamese lyrics such as: “Victory Day” by David Tukhmanov, “Fatherland” by Serafim Tulikov.

Along with Russian music, the program will feature many works that are unforgettable songs written by musicians who were soldiers on the front lines during important historical moments of the Vietnamese people, such as: “Ho Chi Minh, the most beautiful name” by musician Tran Kiet Tuong; “The country is full of joy” by musician Hoang Ha; “My country has never been so beautiful” by musician Hoang Van…
