How does the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training increase honesty in scientific and technical research?
The honesty of students’ scientific research activities has been emphasized in the organization of science and technology competitions after Thanh Nien Newspaper published a series of articles on the current situation and paradox of high school students’ scientific research. The articles reflect opinions doubting the honesty of the implementation process and pointed out that the research costs millions but is not applied in practice.
Right at the final round of the science and technology competition, talking to Thanh Nien Newspaper reporter, Mr. Quoc said that the Department of Education and Training emphasized to the competition's judges that it should promote honesty in research and that the product must come from the creative ideas and research activities of students.
According to Mr. Quoc, the jury consists of experienced members from universities, selected to suit the subject and research topic. In the final round, each judge will discuss directly with each student. This discussion will continue to review the extent of the students' participation in the topic.

According to Mr. Quoc, the Department of Education and Training also noted that the jury should help students supplement and adjust the issues they have not achieved in the research process; orient the development of topics to participate in the national final round, thereby continuing their future study and research path.
When asked what the education sector will do so that students' scientific research topics can be applied to reality and not just "put in a test and put in a drawer", Mr. Quoc said that research topics come from reality such as social behavior research, support for the visually impaired...
"Therefore, we always consider it one of the important issues. The Department of Political and Ideological Affairs of the Department of Education and Training has planned to organize a creative startup competition and the research topics that make it to the final round will be a topic that continues to participate in this competition. And from the creative startup competition, with the participation of businesses, the development of those topics into life will certainly have many advantages," Mr. Quoc added.
