This is a program of the Da Nang City Youth Union to encourage environmental protection awareness among students, contributing to the implementation of the project "Building Da Nang - Environmental City in the period 2021-2030".
Accordingly, on October 29 at Ngo Gia Tu Primary School (Son Tra District, Da Nang City ), the program "Small Plan Bus" continued to be launched with the participation of 12 primary schools in the district.
This model has been implemented since November 2022 and has achieved positive results. The model encourages students to collect waste and resources including metal, plastic and paper. Students will then sort and store the waste in a sorting vehicle at the school.
Every Thursday is designated as "Resource Waste Collection Day", helping to create a habit of regular waste classification among students.
Initial results show that the model is of great significance, as a total of 1,892 kg of cans, 3,417 kg of paper and 1,152 kg of plastic bottles have been collected to date. The funds from this recycled waste have supported many disadvantaged students through the "Pink Smile" program.

Le Mai Kha (student of Ngo Gia Tu Primary School, Son Tra District) said that with the spirit of young people doing small things, they want to contribute to protecting the green, clean and beautiful environment.
"Not only do we classify trash at school, but we will also try to do it effectively at home. At the same time, we will spread the spirit of environmental protection to our relatives and friends. I hope that our small actions will have a great meaning in protecting the environment," Mai Kha said.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Thanh - Standing Committee member, Head of the Movement Committee of the Da Nang City Youth Union - assessed that the "Small Plan Bus" model has achieved positive results and spread the spirit of environmental protection to students in Cam Le and Hai Chau districts.
"Realizing that this model has brought many meaningful results, the City Youth Union continues to replicate the model to schools in Son Tra district. Hopefully, not only the students, but also the school board and teachers will join hands in classifying waste toeducate and set an example for students to follow," said Mr. Thanh.
