- On the morning of December 24, in Lang Son city, the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone (KTCK) and the Management Board of Pingxiang General Tax Free Zone, Guangxi (China) held a meeting to discuss and agree on resolving arising issues, creating conditions to promote import and export of goods between the two sides.
Speaking at the meeting, the leader of the Dong Dang - Lang Son Economic Zone Management Board said that recently, especially at the end of the year, import and export activities through border gates in Lang Son province have been very active, with a large daily volume of goods exchanged, averaging over 1,300 vehicles/day (peaking at some days, it reached over 1,500 vehicles), equivalent to about 25,000-30,000 tons of goods/day (90% of the vehicles carrying goods cleared through the Tan Thanh - Po Chai dedicated freight road (area of landmarks 1088/2-1089) and the dedicated freight road in the area of landmarks 1119-1120 of the Huu Nghi International Border Gate (Vietnam) - Huu Nghi Quan (China)).
To facilitate customs clearance activities and meet the needs of businesses, during the meeting, the leaders of the Dong Dang - Lang Son Economic Zone Management Board and the Pingxiang General Tax Free Zone Management Board, Guangxi exchanged and discussed the situation of customs clearance of goods through the Huu Nghi - Huu Nghi Quan International Border Gate and customs clearance routes and specialized roads; discussed solutions to promote customs clearance activities at the end of the year such as: optimizing the process of checking and quarantine of goods; increasing working hours during peak times; flexibly regulating import and export goods of the two sides, especially fruits and agricultural products.
Through the discussion, the two units basically agreed on a number of contents. Accordingly, in the coming time, the two sides will continue to pay attention to and strengthen coordination with the functional forces at the Huu Nghi International Border Gate and Huu Nghi Quan, the Tan Thanh - Po Chai dedicated freight road (marker area 1088/2-1089) to review and further optimize the inspection and control process to improve the efficiency of customs clearance for Vietnamese export goods to about 450-500 vehicles/day. At the same time, consider extending the working hours during peak times; strengthen coordination to regulate vehicles carrying import and export goods of fruits and agricultural products from the Huu Nghi - Huu Nghi Quan border gate pair through the dedicated freight road in the mark area 1088/2-1089 (Tan Thanh - Po Chai) and the Coc Nam - Lung Nghiu customs clearance in the mark area 1104-1105; propaganda for businesses on both sides to implement.
During the meeting, leaders of the two units also discussed coordination and actively advised superior agencies of the two sides in implementing the pilot project to build smart border gates.
