At the talks, in the spirit of equality, friendship and frankness, the delegations of the two sides together summarized the achievements in the work of coordinating border management and protection from December 2024 to present. At the same time, they proposed tasks in border management and protection in the coming time, such as: The two sides will continue to thoroughly implement the "16-word motto" and "4-good spirit", promoting the comprehensive strategic cooperation relationship to develop more and more stably; closely coordinate in the work of managing and protecting the border, national border lines, and border markers; maintain strict implementation of the three legal documents on the Vietnam-China land border and the Border Defense Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of National Defense of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Ministry of National Defense of the People's Republic of China signed on October 24, 2024 and the common perceptions reached through many talks at all levels; Maintain security and order in border areas, create a favorable environment to promote economic, cultural and social development, and improve people's lives.

The two heads of delegation signed the Memorandum of Understanding of the 16th Talks.

The two sides agreed to direct their subordinate units to continue to coordinate in organizing bilateral border patrols according to the plan determined in the minutes of the 13th meeting. Strengthening supervision of construction activities on the border must ensure compliance with the provisions of the Agreement on land border management regulations between Vietnam and China and related agreements; promptly exchanging information, coordinating to resolve incidents and events occurring on the border appropriately, in accordance with the law, and not complicating the situation.

Actively coordinate to combat all types of crimes, violations of the Agreement and laws in border areas. Strengthen the propaganda and education of legal policies for border residents, actively contributing to building a peaceful , friendly, stable and developing Vietnam - China border.
