Conference to review local military and defense work in 2025 and deploy directions and tasks for 2026

In 2025, under the close leadership and direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the provincial armed forces together with departments, branches, sectors and localities will strive, unite, closely follow reality, promote the sense of responsibility, overcome difficulties to achieve and exceed the targets set out in the resolution; in which, focus on strictly implementing the task of combat readiness; proactively and flexibly grasp the situation, advise and propose timely and effective handling of situations, maintain political security and social order and safety in the area; strengthen national defense and security, build an increasingly solid defense zone.

Ensure all aspects of military , national defense, border defense, and people's air defense when implementing two-level local government; strictly implement the procedures for selecting and calling citizens to join the army.

Party and political activities were ensured; logistics and technical work were carried out fully and promptly. Supported and donated 51 "Comrades' Houses", "Comradeship", "Great Unity" houses for cadres with especially difficult housing circumstances, 11 "Houses of Gratitude" for policy families; donated 3,348 gifts, with a total amount of over 6 billion VND to beneficiaries on holidays and Tet.

At the conference, delegates discussed the achievements as well as the directions and tasks for 2026 regarding military recruitment and military recruitment; reserve mobilization; patrolling, controlling and protecting border security in maritime border areas, and combating IUU fishing. In addition, delegates also discussed the highlights and solutions to implement upcoming tasks in coordinating to ensure the safety of political events, holidays and Tet in the province; and educating the people on national defense and security in schools.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Chi Nguyen acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the efforts and achievements of all levels, sectors, localities and armed forces of the province in 2025.

To successfully carry out the tasks in 2026, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Chi Nguyen requested the provincial armed forces to seriously and effectively implement the instructions of General Secretary To Lam. Thoroughly implement the Resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030. Continue to coordinate with ministries, branches and central agencies to speed up the implementation of strategic infrastructure projects, especially the project to develop Hon Khoai island cluster and connecting axes serving the economy - national defense.

In addition, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Chi Nguyen requested the provincial armed forces to actively improve the effectiveness of national defense and security education; improve the quality of military recruitment and enrollment; promote the application of science and technology, especially in border management and control of offshore waters; closely coordinate and direct the selection and call-up of citizens for military service in 2026.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 10 collectives and 20 individuals with outstanding achievements in local military and defense work in 2025.
