Vietnam Journalists Association organizes the "Returning to the Source" Program "Lighting the Flame of Gratitude" in Quang Tri

On the occasion of the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2023), on July 19 and 20, the Vietnam Journalists Association organized the Return to the Source Program "Lighting the Flame of Gratitude" in Quang Tri province.

Former Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh presented bicycles donated by the Returning to the Roots Program "Lighting the Flame of Gratitude" in Quang Tri province to poor students.

Attending the program were former Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Tri province Nguyen Dang Quang; Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province Vo Van Hung; Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Nguyen Duc Loi; Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Tran Trong Dung and leaders of many press agencies across the country.

Offering incense and flowers to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Memorial

On the first day, former Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh and delegates visited, offered incense and flowers at the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Memorial and at the General Secretary Le Duan Memorial Site (Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri province).

The delegation also presented 35 gifts to veteran journalists, veteran journalists, and relatives of martyrs; presented 80 gifts to journalists who are children of war invalids, martyrs, and the poor; presented tablets and bicycles to poor but studious students; and presented funds to build 5 gratitude houses and solidarity houses to families with revolutionary contributions and families in difficult circumstances in Quang Tri.

The program also organized an agreement signing ceremony between the Women's Union of Quang Tri province and Xuyen Viet Oil Transport and Tourism Trading Company Limited, sponsoring poor households to borrow a credit package with 0% interest rate, total value of 1 billion VND.

Many press agencies, organizations and charitable individuals participating in the program also presented 10,000 national flags, charity houses, scholarships, bicycles, gifts, breeding cows, batteries, medicine cabinets, legal books... to students and people in difficult circumstances, as well as fishermen in Quang Tri.
