Cham My Nghiep brocade weaving skills competition

On June 15, the People's Committee of Phuoc Dan town (Ninh Phuoc) organized the Cham My Nghiep brocade weaving competition. The competition is part of the program to welcome the UNESCO Certificate of recognition of "Cham pottery art on the list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity in need of urgent protection" and the Ninh Thuan Grape-Wine Festival in 2023.

The Cham Brocade Weaving Competition has 15 contestants who are artisans from My Nghiep village; including 5 contestants under 25 years old, 5 contestants from 25-40 years old; 5 contestants over 40 years old. Within 30 minutes, the contestants complete brocade products on looms with the highest productivity, most beautiful patterns, fewest errors, and understanding of Cham ethnic brocade weaving traditions.

Leaders of Phuoc Dan Town People's Committee awarded certificates to the winners of the My Nghiep Cham Brocade Weaving Competition.

As a result of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded 3 first prizes, 3 second prizes, 3 third prizes and 6 consolation prizes. First prize in the under 25 age group was awarded to contestant Phu Thi Bich Hue; First prize in the 25-40 age group was awarded to contestant Thach Thi Loa; First prize in the over 40 age group was awarded to contestant Thi Phuong.
