\nAt noon on December 3rd, local authorities released an initial report on the fire at Khe Tre market (Nam Dong district, Thua Thien Hue province) that occurred early this morning.
\nAccording to the leaders of the Nam Dong District People's Committee, the fire broke out at around 3:40 AM at a stall within the Khe Tre market. Traders then discovered the fire and reported it to the market management board and relevant authorities.
\nUpon receiving the report, authorities mobilized 9 specialized vehicles and 70 firefighters; 190 people from the district and commune police forces, part-time police, and neighborhood security guards participated in extinguishing the fire.
\nIn addition, other forces such as soldiers, militia, officials, civil servants, and the public were mobilized to participate in firefighting and help traders evacuate their goods.
\nBy approximately 7:30 AM the same day, the fire was largely brought under control. According to statistics, 2,180 square meters of the Khe Tre market were destroyed; 335 stalls and kiosks were burned; there were no casualties.
\nAccording to the leaders of the Nam Dong District People's Committee, professional forces are currently examining the scene to investigate and clarify the cause of the fire.
\nFollowing the investigation, authorities will mobilize forces to clean up the scene and assist traders in overcoming the consequences of the fire.
\nLocal authorities continue to assess the damage suffered by small business owners and provide support and encouragement to help them overcome difficulties and maintain their morale.
\nThis morning, two Vice Chairmen of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Phan Quy Phuong and Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, directly visited the scene to direct forces in controlling and mitigating the consequences of the Khe Tre market fire.
