More than 9,000 candidates in the province completed the 2025 high school graduation exam

On the morning of June 27, more than 9,000 candidates of Lao Cai entered the second day of the 2025 high school graduation exam.

According to reporters from Lao Cai Newspaper, heavy rain fell at some examination sites in the province. However, thanks to proactive preparations for the exam and the active assistance of the examination service forces, candidates and their families arrived at the examination sites on time, safely, and conveniently. At many examination sites, the cool weather helped candidates feel more comfortable during the exam.

Candidates taking the 2018 General Education Program exam will take a first and second elective exam from among the following subjects (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economics and Law Education, Informatics, Technology, and Foreign Language); the time allotted for each subject is 50 minutes. For candidates taking the 2006 General Education Program exam, they will take the Natural Sciences combined exam (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and the Social Sciences combined exam (History, Geography, Civic Education), with a time allotted for each subject of 50 minutes.

According to a preliminary report from the Lao Cai Department of Education and Training, the total number of candidates registered to take the 2018 exam at testing centers throughout the province was 9,010, with 8,986 candidates actually taking the exam and 24 absent. At testing center No. 6 in Lao Cai city, the number of candidates taking the 2006 exam was 169, with 157 candidates actually taking the exam and 12 absent.

The end of this morning's exam also marks the completion of the 2018 General Education Program exam for all candidates.

This afternoon, at 2:30 PM, candidates taking the 2006 General Education Program exam will continue with the Foreign Language exam, with a time limit of 60 minutes.

The total number of candidates registered to take the 2018 General Education Program exam at 5 testing locations in the city was 2,572, with 18 absent compared to the registered number. The number of candidates taking the 2006 program exam at testing location No. 6 in Lao Cai city was 157, with 12 absent compared to the registered number.

Thanks to thorough preparation by the candidates and the personnel involved in serving the exam, the organization of the exam in Lao Cai city was safe and serious. According to the candidates' feedback, the elective subjects' exam questions closely followed the new curriculum, mainly focusing on 12th-grade knowledge. Of these, 40% were at the knowledge level, 30% at the understanding level, and 30% at the application level. Most candidates felt comfortable because the exam was "easier" than the Math exam. Furthermore, for candidates taking the 2018 General Education Program exam, completing the elective and combined subject exams (natural sciences, social sciences) also marks the end of the 2025 high school graduation exam.

Nguyen Quyen Linh, a student in class 12A4 at Lao Cai City High School No. 3, took two elective subjects: Physics and English. Quyen Linh happily shared: "Right now, I feel very happy because today's exam was quite manageable. I think I answered about 70% correctly."

Tran Uyen Phuong, a student in class 12A3 at Lao Cai City High School No. 3, also shared: "I took two exams, Chemistry and Biology. The questions had both easy and difficult parts, effectively differentiating students' abilities. Currently, I feel very relaxed because I tried my best and the exam went smoothly."

This afternoon, candidates taking the 2006 General Education Program exams will continue their tests at the exam center located at High School No. 4 in Lao Cai City.
