Candidates taking the 2018 General Education Program will take the first and second optional exams among the following subjects (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology and Foreign Languages); the exam time for each subject is 50 minutes. For candidates taking the 2006 General Education Program, they will take the Natural Science combination exam (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and the Social Science combination exam (History, Geography, Civic Education), the exam time for each subject is 50 minutes.
According to a quick report from the Lao Cai Departmentof Education and Training, the total number of candidates registered for the 2018 program at testing sites in the province was 9,010, of whom 8,986 showed up, with 24 absent. The number of candidates taking the 2006 program at testing site No. 6 in Lao Cai city was 169, of whom 157 showed up, with 12 absent.
The end of the exam this morning is also the time when candidates taking the 2018 General Education Program complete the exam.
This afternoon, at 2:30 p.m., candidates taking the 2006 General Education Program will continue taking the Foreign Language exam, with a duration of 60 minutes.

On the morning of June 27, along with candidates from across the country, more than 2,600 candidates from Lao Cai city entered the second day of the 2025 high school graduation exam.
When candidates arrived at the 6 testing locations in Lao Cai city, it was pouring rain. However, because they had prepared plans for all types of weather, candidates were still present at the testing room on time.
The total number of candidates registered to take the 2018 General Education Program at 5 testing locations in the city is 2,572, 18 candidates are absent compared to the registration. The number of candidates taking the 2006 program at testing location No. 6 in Lao Cai city is 157, 12 candidates are absent according to the registration.
With careful preparation by candidates and the forces participating in serving the exam, the organization of the exam in Lao Cai city ensured safety and seriousness. No candidates or invigilators violated the exam regulations. Candidates entered the exam room with confidence and calmness.
According to the candidates' comments, the exam questions for the elective subjects closely followed the new program, mainly knowledge of grade 12. Of which, 40% of the questions were at the knowledge level, 30% at the comprehension level and 30% at the application level. Most candidates felt comfortable because the exam questions were "easier" than Math. In addition, for candidates taking the 2018 General Education Program, completing the elective exams and combined exams (natural sciences, social sciences) also marked the end of the 2025 high school graduation exam.
Nguyen Quyen Linh, a 12A4 student at Lao Cai City High School No. 3, took two elective exams: Physics and English. Quyen Linh happily said: At this moment, I feel very happy because today's exam was quite suitable. I did about 70%.
Tran Uyen Phuong, a 12A3 student at Lao Cai City High School No. 3, also shared: I took two exams in Chemistry and Biology. The questions were partly easy and partly difficult, and the students' levels were classified. Currently, I feel very comfortable because I tried my best and took the exam smoothly.
This afternoon, candidates taking the 2006 General Education Program will continue taking the exam at the exam site of High School No. 4, Lao Cai city.
