According to information from the University of Science, Ho Chi Minh City, the new academic year welcomes over 4,500 new students from 34 provinces and cities nationwide. Among them are many outstanding students with remarkable achievements such as: winning high prizes in international Olympiads, national-level student competitions, and national-level science and technology competitions...
Notably, in 2025, the University of Science, Ho Chi Minh City, will allocate approximately 22 billion VND in scholarships for outstanding new students in the 2025 regular university entrance exam. Among them, 11 new students will receive full scholarships equivalent to four years of tuition fees, totaling 320 million VND.
Full scholarships equivalent to four years of tuition fees were awarded to three top-scoring students in the university entrance exam. Two of them, Truong Van Hung and Huynh Tuong An, both achieved 29.75 points in the A00 subject combination (mathematics-physics-chemistry) in this year's high school graduation exam. In addition, Tran Nhu Khai was the top-scoring student in the 2025 National University of Ho Chi Minh City's aptitude test-based admission method with 1,106 points.
Full scholarships are also awarded to outstanding new students who have achieved international success. For example, Le Kien Thanh (Gold Medalist at the 2025 International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI)) was admitted to the Computer Science program (Advanced Program). Le Phan Duc Man (Silver Medalist at the 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad) was admitted to the Computer Science program (Advanced Program). Cao Trung Quan (Fourth Prize at the 2025 International Science and Engineering Fair - ISEF) was admitted to the Computer Science program (Advanced Program).
Four-year scholarships were also awarded to new students who won first prize in the 2025 national computer science competition and were admitted to the Computer Science program (advanced program), including: Vo Thanh Hai (Nguyen Du High School for the Gifted, Dak Lak ); Do Gia Huy (Nguyen Du High School for the Gifted, Dak Lak); Nguyen Dang Khang (Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, Gia Lai); and Le Minh Nhat (Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Quang Tri).
In addition, Doan Duc Minh (Le Quy Don Specialized High School, Khanh Hoa ), who won first prize in the 2025 national mathematics competition for gifted students and was admitted to the mathematics, applied mathematics, and computer science majors, was also awarded a full scholarship.
Two runners-up in this year's entrance exam were awarded one-year scholarships: Nguyen Thanh Cong, who achieved 29.5 in the A00 subject combination in the 2025 high school graduation exam; and Phan Nguyen Tuong Vy, who achieved 1,091 points in the 2025 aptitude test of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City.
The University of Science, Ho Chi Minh City, held its opening ceremony and awarded scholarships to new students on September 12th.
