On December 13th, the People's Committee of Krông Búk district launched an operation to clear the road safety corridor of spontaneous markets and business establishments that do not comply with planning and regulations in Pơng Drang town.
Accordingly, the district's authorities have cleared cases of encroachment on road lanes, sidewalks, and road safety corridors for trading or placing signs.
Before carrying out the clearance operation, the authorities disseminated information and encouraged residents to strictly comply with State regulations on urban order, refraining from encroaching on roads and sidewalks for business and trading purposes, which detracts from urban aesthetics and causes environmental pollution.

Following awareness campaigns, many small business owners and traders have proactively complied with the regulations. For those who continue to violate the rules, authorities dismantle temporary awnings and corrugated iron roofs of their businesses and confiscate them. The confiscated items are brought to the Pơng Drang town People's Committee headquarters for further processing according to regulations.
The campaign to clear the road safety corridors of unauthorized markets and business establishments that do not comply with planning regulations aims to reduce accidents and traffic congestion; ensure fire prevention and control, and food safety and hygiene in the area. In particular, it aims to improve the effectiveness of discipline, order, and state management in the management of road corridors.
Currently, Pơng Drang town is still deploying forces to be on duty and handle cases of re-occupation of sidewalks and roadsides for trading and business purposes. The clearance process will run from December 13th until completion.
In addition, the People's Committee of Krông Búk district is simultaneously implementing solutions to relocate traders from informal markets and business locations operating outside of planned areas to the new Pơng Drang market. At the same time, they are developing a compensation and support plan to implement the green park project at the old Pơng Drang market.
