Indonesia received bad news from FIFA after its dream of participating in the World Cup was shattered.

They lost their third-place position in Southeast Asia to Malaysia. The "Tigers" gained 6.77 points after their victory against Laos and rose 4 places to 119th in the world rankings.

Meanwhile, the Vietnamese national team moved up one place to 113th in the world rankings after gaining 6.98 points from their victory against Nepal. Thailand also gained 6.71 points after their win against Chinese Taipei, rising to 98th in the world. Thailand is the only Southeast Asian team to be included in the top 100 in the world rankings.

Following Indonesia's elimination from the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Indonesian fans have called for coach Kluivert's resignation.
