German press exposed Schweinsteiger's affair.

According to Bild , Ivanovic filed for divorce at the Munich District Court last November. The former world number 1 tennis player also requested alimony for her three children Luka, Leon and Teo, who currently live with her in Palma de Mallorca (Spain).

The couple were seen as a symbol of perfection in the sports world, after falling in love in 2014 and holding a romantic wedding in Venice in 2016, just a year after Schweinsteiger joined MU. They were together for 9 years before breaking up.

Ivanovic's lawyer confirmed in July that the pair had split due to irreconcilable differences. However, German media have suggested that the breakdown in their relationship was linked to Schweinsteiger's love life.

In June 2025, he was caught being intimate with a woman who is said to be a parent friend of his child's school. The German press named this person as Silva, a Bulgarian national, and confirmed that the relationship began in the summer of 2024.

Bunte magazine said Ivanovic was willing to forgive, but Schweinsteiger said he wanted to live freely, dashing hopes of a reconciliation. The couple were last seen together at the Laver Cup in September 2024. They posted a photo together in December, but the relationship is said to have hit a stalemate.

Schweinsteiger, 41, played for MU for a season and a half and won the FA Cup in 2016 before moving to MLS to play for Chicago Fire, then retired in 2019. Ivanovic herself left professional tennis in 2016 to focus on her family. She was once known as the hottest tennis player in the world.
