American tourists searching for Da Nang increased dramatically after Bill Gates' trip

According to statistics from digital travel platform Agoda, Da Nang became the most searched city by American tourists in January, surpassing Tokyo (Japan) and Bangkok (Thailand).

The number of searches from American travelers to Da Nang has increased dramatically, at 1,538% compared to the same period in 2024, recording the most impressive growth among the top destinations. Agoda data also shows that Da Nang is in the top 5 cities of interest to North American travelers from July 2024 to present.

In recent years, Da Nang has been chosen by many billionaires from other countries as a resort when coming to Vietnam, and has also attracted the weddings of the rich Indian class. The weddings have 200-500 guests, lasting for many days at the city's luxury coastal resorts.

According to the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, the grand wedding of Indian couples and dozens of tourist weddings taking place locally are positive signs for the Da Nang tourism industry.

Not only Da Nang, but Vietnam in general is also becoming the most sought-after destination for American tourists. According to Agoda data, Vietnam has risen from fourth place to number one in the list of most-interested destinations for American tourists in 2024, surpassing even Japan.

The number of accommodation searches in Vietnam by American travelers in 2024 also increased by 174% compared to the previous year. According to Agoda statistics, American travelers are currently the second largest market of Vietnam, just behind South Korea.

This strong growth is also in line with the Vietnamese Government's strategy, aiming to welcome 1.3 million American tourists by 2028 and put the US in the top 3 markets sending visitors to Vietnam.
