Opening of the Vietnam Trade Fair

On the afternoon of September 20th, the 18th Vietnam-Shanghai Trade Fair 2024 was inaugurated in Ho Chi Minh City. The event was organized by the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry - Ho Chi Minh City Branch (VCCI-HCM) in collaboration with the Shanghai Fair Commission.

The Vietnam-Shanghai Trade Fair will run until February 21, 2024, at the SKY EXPO Vietnam International Convention and Exhibition Center, Quang Trung Software Park, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City.

The trade fair brought together more than 200 enterprises and over 20 Chinese associations to showcase and introduce high-quality Chinese products. Particularly noteworthy were products bearing Shanghai brands in fields such as chemicals, new energy, high-end equipment, medical and biomedical equipment, household appliances, and services.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, emphasized that Vietnam and China have always built and nurtured a comprehensive cooperative partnership. The Party Committee, government, and people of Ho Chi Minh City always attach importance to maintaining and developing cooperative relations with ministries, departments, and localities of China.

Currently, trade cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai is an important part of Vietnam-China trade relations. Since the official establishment of diplomatic relations, bilateral relations between Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai have developed rapidly in both breadth and depth, especially in the fields of economics, finance, trade, logistics, investment, and innovative technology.

In particular, Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai regularly organize trade fairs, seminars, and economic forums to promote trade and investment between the two cities. These events play a crucial role in connecting businesses, expanding cooperation opportunities, and developing new projects.

On the other hand, trade and investment cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai not only promotes the development of both cities but also contributes to a deeper economic relationship between Vietnam and China. Both cities play important roles in the region, and strong cooperation between them can open up many opportunities for future development, especially in the context of globalization and digital economic transformation.

"Therefore, Ho Chi Minh City sincerely hopes and believes that the two cities will continue to enhance the substance of their activities and further deepen the friendly cooperative relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai in particular, and Chinese localities in general, in the future," Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong emphasized.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Liem, Director of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Ho Chi Minh City branch (VCCI-HCM), also believes that this trade fair in Vietnam will further promote cooperation between the two countries in general, and between Shanghai and Ho Chi Minh City in particular, in the fields of trade and investment.
