This is the information announced by the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology on September 24 about the program "Mid-Autumn Festival 2025: Fun with Children". The program is also the opening activity of a series of events celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Museum's founding (1995 - 2025), introducing many attractive experiences associated with the journey of preserving and promoting the value of folk cultural heritage. The program will have a rehearsal on September 27, taking place on October 4 - 5 at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology.
On this occasion, the public will have the opportunity to meet folk artists who have been associated with the Museum for nearly three decades. The organizers will also recreate the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival space through familiar toys such as: lanterns, star lanterns, paper doctors, figurines, papier-mâché masks, clay figurines, etc. Children will not only be able to admire but also have the opportunity to learn how to make toys under the direct guidance of folk artists.
In addition, the program also offers many experiential activities: folk games of jumping rope, stilt walking, hopscotch, tug of war..., STEM activities to explore science through lanterns, and activities in the Discovery Room for children such as telling stories about the origin of the Mid-Autumn Festival, trying out hand puppetry, painting Mid-Autumn Festival-themed pictures, exploring Mid-Autumn Festival toys...
A new highlight of this year's event is the "Autumn Colors" art installation space. Here, the public has the opportunity to admire traditional toys of the elderly artisans; restored and creative toys of some young people passionate about handicrafts. In this space, visitors have the opportunity to explore stories of the Museum and artisans' journey to preserve, create and develop traditional toys. This activity also promises to bring an interesting experience, connecting heritage and digital technology through the experience with Dr. AI.
