Elevating agricultural products through agro-tourism.

Dong Nai is known as the fruit capital of the Southeast region of Vietnam, with famous specialties such as rambutan, durian, and mangosteen. During the fruit ripening season, vast orchards create a vibrant atmosphere in the countryside, particularly in localities such as Xuan Bac commune, Binh Loc ward, and Hang Gon ward.

Besides its popular fruit orchards, Dong Nai also boasts attractive destinations offering diverse experiences such as exploring nature, immersing oneself in the lives of local people, and learning about the agricultural production activities of farmers. Through these agricultural and rural tourism models, the economic value of agricultural products is enhanced, contributing to the socio-economic development of rural areas.

From July 1st, 2025, the merger of Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc provinces has created many more potentials for tourism development in the new Dong Nai province, such as ecotourism involving waterfalls, forests, and historical sites. Bu Gia Map National Park is one of the major potentials to boost the local tourism industry. In May 2025, the ecotourism area in Bu Gia Map National Park was officially recognized as a 3-star OCOP tourism product.

Mr. Do Truong Giang, Deputy Director of the Tourism Promotion and Conservation Rescue Center of Bu Gia Map National Park, said: The 3-star OCOP tourism products of Bu Gia Map National Park include ecotourism tours exploring the biodiversity in the National Park.

In Bu Gia Map, visitors can experience trekking activities at waterfalls and heritage trees, and camp overnight in the forest. Visitors can also learn about the wonders of the pristine nature and rich flora and fauna of the park, accompanied by local S'tieng and M'nong ethnic people.

Experiential tourism activities in the park are all linked to the cultural space and cuisine of the ethnic communities currently living in the buffer zone of Bu Gia Map National Park, such as: enjoying gong culture, campfire, staying in traditional S'tieng longhouses, learning about and experiencing traditional crafts (basket weaving, brocade weaving - recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage), and experiencing unique dishes such as: grilled meat, bamboo rice, stream fish, and thut soup - one of the famous dishes honored as one of the 121 typical dishes of Vietnam in 2022.

These products are developed based on readily available local resources, offering experiences of nature, culture, and art of the ethnic communities.

In particular, the OCOP tourism products of Bu Gia Map National Park have harmoniously combined ecotourism with the promotion of the culture of the S'tieng and M'nong ethnic groups, local farming, production, and harvesting skills such as brocade weaving, rice wine making, cocoa, seasonal fruits, and the life of rural people... contributing to enhancing the value of local agricultural products.

"In the coming time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai province will continue to survey, encourage and support localities to take advantage of their strengths to develop tourism products, contributing to the development of Dong Nai's tourism industry as well as promoting local economic and social development," emphasized Le Thi Ngoc Loan, Provincial Party Committee member and Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai province.
