Regret for young actors
Part 1 of "Us of Eight Years Later" officially concluded, leaving viewers with a sense of regret as they had to say goodbye to young actors Hoang Ha - Quoc Anh, Tran Nghia, and Ngoc Huyen. In particular, Hoang Ha and Quoc Anh received a shower of praise for their chemistry, which brought many emotions to the audience.
Accordingly, despite being deeply in love, Duong and Lam were forced to separate due to economic pressure and family pressure. Lam decided to leave Duong so that Chairman Quang could buy back his house; it was the only way he could save his family from their financial predicament.
Hoang Ha - Quoc Anh received a shower of compliments because the couple's "chemistry" brought many emotions to the audience.
In part 2, Manh Truong plays Lam and Huyen Lizzie plays Duong. However, there are many opinions that do not support this change.
"It's only been a week, but it feels like watching two different movies," "I miss the cast from 8 years ago so much," "Eight years isn't that long, the characters' appearances haven't changed much, why replace the actors?", "The movie was great because of the new cast. Now that they've changed the actors, I've lost all interest," viewers commented.
Manh Truong has had many successful television roles portraying wealthy, elegant heartthrobs. Many people believe that his choice to play Lam in "Our Time Eight Years Later" is a lackluster one, lacking any breakthrough. Many also regret the loss of Quoc Anh's freshness, as Manh Truong will appear somewhat familiar and rather "mature" compared to what the audience expected.
Huyen Lizzie is also considered a talented actress, especially after her role in "Thuong Ngay Nang Ve" (Sunshine on a Beautiful Day). However, compared to the freshness and youthfulness of Hoang Ha, Huyen Lizzie may not necessarily make a strong impression.
Besides, there are also opinions that after many events, both Lam and Duong have become different, and the choice of the couple Manh Truong and Huyen Lizzie is suitable for the film's content and the characters' personalities.
The cast was replaced in part 2 of Us 8 Years Later.
