On the afternoon of November 27, 2025, at Km0 of the specialized road for transporting goods in the area of ​​milestones 1119-1120 of the Huu Nghi international border gate (Vietnam) - Huu Nghi Quan (China), the People's Committee of Lang Son province (Vietnam) and the People's Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) jointly held the inauguration ceremony of the specialized road for transporting goods in the area of ​​milestones 1119-1120 of the Huu Nghi smart border gate (Vietnam) - Huu Nghi Quan (China).

The project to expand the specialized freight transport road in the area of ​​​​markers 1119 - 1120 of Huu Nghi International Border Gate is part of the pilot project to build a smart border gate, invested by the Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board. The project has a total investment of over 174.7 billion VND, divided into 2 phases: phase 1 expands from 4 lanes to 6 lanes and phase 2 expands from 6 lanes to 14 lanes. After actively implementing the project, up to now, the specialized freight transport road project in the area of ​​​​markers 1119 - 1120 of Huu Nghi (Vietnam) - Huu Nghi Quan (China) smart border gate, phase 1 has been completed.

The project aims to improve trade capacity, meet the needs of transporting import and export goods, ensure the role as an important traffic, trade and foreign relations hub between Vietnam and China and Southeast Asian countries; contribute to increasing import and export turnover at Huu Nghi international border gate, achieve the goal of focusing on rapid development of border gate economy , create a driving force to promote economic growth, contribute to improving the capacity of goods clearance between the two sides.

Speaking here, comrade Nguyen Canh Toan, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that 2025 is a year of special significance in the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China, celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, and at the same time the Year of Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange, according to the common perception and direct direction of the senior leaders of the two Parties and the two States. The specialized road project for transporting goods in the area of ​​landmarks 1119-1120 is of special significance, being the first and fundamental step in the process of building the Huu Nghi - Huu Nghi Quan smart border gate model. The project not only contributes to improving customs clearance capacity, but also creates a premise for synchronous implementation of the following items, towards a modern border gate model, digital connection, effective management, safety and more convenience for people and businesses on both sides. At the same time, it contributes to deepening the neighborly friendship between the two countries, creating new momentum to promote practical, effective and mutually beneficial cooperation between Lang Son province (Vietnam) and Guangxi Autonomous Region (China).

To speed up the progress and ensure the effectiveness of the smart border gate model at the Huu Nghi - Huu Nghi Quan international border gate pair, he hoped that the two sides would continue to direct specialized agencies to strengthen coordination and share information fully and promptly; soon agree on important contents such as technical standards, connection infrastructure, management - operation model, data exchange mechanism and common inspection and control process; continue to expand cooperation in digital transformation, information technology, modern border management, ensuring that the smart border gate operates smoothly and effectively, bringing practical benefits to businesses and people of both sides.
